Course Curriculum Overview

4

Course curriculum is average in comparison of other universities and it is quite relative relative with the stream that students have selected. It's more comprehensive and much relative to the field of progress.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

Tata research lab is inside the main campus that provides the work experience for the beginners and the internship opportunities for the students and recently University signed the Mou with infosys that will University placements more better.

Placement Experience

3.5

Not that much companies arrived to the campus in placement season but yes students are getting placed by off campus placements. There are certain things that are provided by the college administration for the employment and internships.

Fees and Financial Aid

About the fee , there is not that too much course fee in Ikgptu , it's around 3.8 lakh for the four years b.tech degree , that i think is not much. Talking about employment, it has vast environment of employment and ikgptu has it's personal tata research lab.

Campus Life

4

Overall experience is good in ikgptu . Talking about campus life , it has a diversity of students in which 10-12 states of students studies. So you can get idea of it's culture. The infrastructure is quite good and obviously it's the main campus so it has much better environment. It has many clubs in which students can participate and learn something new.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

There are three hostels in the main campus namely BH1,BH2 , BH3 and two mess for the students. Hostels and mess are mych cheaper that we can generally think . And the conditions of hostels are much better than anyone can think about the government clg hostels. And also messes are quite hygienic and there are various meals and menu for the weak , and special menu for the festival. The most interesting thing about the mess is that it is cooperative mess and run by the students only by forming mess committe by hostel warden.

Admission

My admission was on the behalf of direct admission but there is also a option for cut off admission. Jee score is also valid for the admission and the cut off for the cse branch is not that too much .

Companies start coming summer internships in the 5th and 6th semester though ,CG cuts are imposed so very less students are elgible to sit for these companies, The real placement season is 7th and 8th semester and many companies visit campus for placements. around 60 percent students got placed in the recent placement drive. The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

NITJ has a placement cell, also known as the Centre of Training and Placements(TPO office of NITJ). The placement scenes differ depending on the courses offered. Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.
