My College Experience

I chose this course because I really liked chemistry subject from class 10th and it was my dream to study science in depth. My faculty members are very kind and generous.They help the students with every problem faced by the students regarding their topics.There is 1:1 faculty student ration in our department.So every student gets utmost attention. My faculty members have qualifications- B.Sc, M.Sc., B.Ed, Ph.d, M.Phill and many more. Their teaching method is very suitable for the students to adapt in the challenging environment.Their teaching style is so simple and smooth that an Arts or Commerce students can also understand the chemistry topics.

Cipla company offered 2.5 LPA job but it only offered the job for the post of Medical Repentative. The placement is really not good and many of the students hated internships and jobs for the Medical Representative designation.

From Sem 5 the students become eligible for the placements. Mahindra Group of companies,IBM,Cipla,and many other companies visits in our college.Generally 5 to 6 offers are made by each company. Avearge package offered by the company is 1.5LPA and the highest is 3LPA. 15% of the students are placed in the placements. After the completion of B.Sc. I will be opting for the Masters Degree from the University of Calcutta.

As such there is no fees hike seen in the college.The fees is very generous as it is government college and I think it is possible for the students to pay the fees. It is 8000 per year for the B.Sc.Chem fees in our college. In our college you can apply for many scholarships like SVMCM scholarship, Akyashree, Nabanna scholarship, Kanyashree scholarship, Student credit Card scheme intiated by the Government Of West Bengal, and many more. If there is financial problem faced by your family then also through various West Bengal Government Schemes and scholarships you can be provided with the financial assistance by our college. Our college provides interships as well as jobs.The maximum package is 3LPA

Annual Sports Day is held every year in our college in the month of December.There is no tech fest that takes place in our college.Many short programmes and seminars,workshops are held in our college every month like Awareness programme, Women Empowerment, Phyisically Challegen people etc. The college library is very old and it is almost difficult to find recent years books related to the subjects. The college has various types of journals basically almost journals are in Bengali Language. Our classroom is also little old.It contains chairs and benches along with a big blackboard.It also has projector and the class room is quite big.The rooms are properly ventilated and there are 5 to 6 fans in each classrooms and our chem lab contains all the necessary equipments and chemical compounds with which we perform our experiments. Sports Day is held every year in th month of December.Various types of exhibitions take place in our campus. There SFI club is a student club is run by students.

Anyone who has taken PCMB in their class 12 are eligible for this course.Their minimum percentage in class 12 should be 60 percent. You can find application form the from college website. In the application form all the information is provided that is the application fees, application date etc. Everything is mentioned in the college website, you just have to visit the website regularly for all the updates. Details of the reservation is available in the website. As such no improvement is required in the admission process.
