Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The faculty-student ratio is around 1:25. I chose civil as there is scope in Govt exams and PSU. Most of the faculties are good they are really enthusiastic about the branch. But some are also there who will Focus more on PPTs and not that good at teaching. You have to adapt accordingly. All the faculties have done Ph.D. Mid sem is in the mid of sem or after 1 and half month from the beginning of the semester and the end sem at last of the semester. They are always on time. It's not difficult to pass. You just need to study a little bit and you can pass

Internships Opportunities

3

There are a loth of internship available in tech. In core there are internship but not well paid it will be around 10k month but in tech you can find intership ranging from 25k to 150k. Mostly you can get an average of 60k internship if you are applying for tech. If you are from CSE or ECE you get an upper hand. Butost of the tech companies are available to all batch and they conduct coding tests. In core you can get internship as per your CGPA. There are some management internship like P&G they are difficult to get but very well paid around 150k per month. If you do good in internship most probably they will give you pre placement offers.

Placement Experience

4

From 7th semester students are eligible for campus placement.NIT Calicut placement 2023 saw the participation of 197 companies recruiting a total of 1144 students. The institute also conducted a summer internship for 2023 graduates. A total of 329 students got placed including 227 students from undergraduate programs. Companies like Accenture, LinkedIn, Microsoft, Goldman Sachs come in tech and in core L&T, Birla, JSW , TVS. Highest package is 47 LPA and average is around 13. I want to do MBA after this.

Fees and Financial Aid

Gen , OBC, EWS having income greater that 5 lakhs has to pay tuition fee 125000 , less than 5 lakhs income has to pay 41667, leass than one lak income no tuition fees. There are many scholarships one is from college where you don't need to pay hostel and mess fees. Others are like NSP, FFE, Shravan scholarship, respective State scholarship.

Campus Life

3

There are two fests cultural one is ragam conducted in Merch and tech one is tathva conducted in September. They are very good. Many renowned Bollywood singers and comedians perfoms. Both the fests goes on for 3 days 2 nights of 3 days are pro show nights it means that some star will come to perform. Library is also very big ther is digital library also fully AC where you can access institute laptops. You can issue any books. In classrooms you will find projector and speaker, they can improve classroom a little bit. Sports amenities are not that good only 3 badminton court and one tenniscourt. Gym is also not that good .all types of clubs are there like mime club, robotics, GDSC, literature.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

First year and fourth year students stay inside the campus and 2 nd and 3re year hostels outside the campus. Internet is provided in room. Food is ok better that many colleges, but somedays not that good. 1st year 4 sharing room. 2nd and 3rd year 2 sharing, 4th year singlee room. Hostels are cleaned everyday, fully hygiene. Mess food is really good and it's mostly suitable for non vegetarian but total 16 messes are ther you can chose accordingly. In locality finding PG is little difficult. Rents are high here and PGs are too much strict mostly for girls ther is no girl allowed after 10 pm. But in college there is no such restrictions on in time and exit time

Admission

Write JEE Mains exam if you are Indian or Nepalese. Otherwise apply through DASA. Jee mains nd DASA dates you can find through NTA and DASA portals respectively. Application fees for jee mainsThe JEE Main registration fee for male and female General candidates is Rs 1000 and Rs 800, respectively. The placement here is top notch. This year in my campus the highest CTC offered was 56.5lpa by PALOALTO. Placements process is centralised at coimbatore though. Students are eligible for campus placements from third year or s5. Average package in computing department ranges from 10-12lpa. My plans after degree is to pursue MS: opportunities of which are provided by the college itself. In computing department almost 90% of the students have been placed according to the seniors I talked to. However it is lower in other streams.

Civil engineering is a course with least placement in every engineering colleges. Students are placed during their fourth year in college. Sobha Constructions Ltd is one of the main companies that visits college. 200000rupees package is the average package offered. Les than 25 percent civil engineers get placed. I plan to prepare for GATE exam and pursue more in this course.
