Hostel are well maintained and regular maintenance takes place
Mess menu are decided by students and taste is good
Campus is full of greenery and buildings

Dislikes

Fees is very high as compared to other colleges
Rate of interest is low Although it provides a good package but fees is very high
Coding culture is not that much compared to nits

Course Curriculum Overview

I was in mechanical engineering branch. I was interested in cse but for my jee rank I got mechanical engineering in bit mesra, here faculty are good qualified and mostly all are graduated from iits so all of them are experienced and have a lot of knowledge.

Internships Opportunities

For internship many companies come and take 60-70 percent students for internship. Here tata steel provides many intership as it is close to mesra campus.civil students get internship in overbridge making process

Placement is the reason why I have chosen this college. I am in mechanical branch which is core side . And I found this college provides avg package of 11-12 lpa to core branches which is good as many nits are not providing..here cse placement is around 20 lpa

Fees and Financial Aid

I am in btech program in bit mesra ranchi, From my opinion fees was quite high here as compared to nit ,iiit and iits .for 4 year I am paying around 18 lakh which is very high. But here placement is quite good as compared to many nits .the avg package is around 12 lpa and for cse it's around 20lpa

Campus Life

Bit mesra campus is very big . It's around 750 acres. The campus is full of trees and greeneries. It is surrounded by river which make it for beautiful.sports opportunity is good here ...the college gives equal opportunity for sports and other curriculum activities

Hostel Facilities

I have taken admission on the first day of admission date . So I got the best hostel of my campus which is hostel 1 .it is sharing room with 1 other student but overall a very good and maintained hostel are available here

Hostel Fee: INR 40000 per year

Admission

It's quite good. I have given jee mains which is an entrance exam for good engineering colleges in India. My score was around 93 percentile and I participated in Jossa through which I got this college. I am from Ranchi itself so my home is also near around 30 km. but I am satisfied with this college and my parents.

Overall Review of NIT Jamshedpur

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum exam ready for students of mechanical engineering it focuses on industrial level exposure and for other competitive exams like gate and IES with good faculty who teaches almost all concepts. There are labs for each subject in which we get real world application knowledge. Also course is updated regularly as per the requirement of industry . The course can we improved by making course more practical rather than a writing all things on practical it should include project for students. Frequency of exam is that in every 15 days there is a exam with moderate to difficult level.

Placement Experience:

7th Semester students become eligible for placements. The highest package is offered by Rubrik in 2025 of 1.41 CR(domestic) High paying jobs are mostly for SWE/SDE roles. Percentage of students getting placed in CSE/AIML is 75, ECE 69, EEE 60, Mech 58. My plans after gettting degree is to get into job sector only for a while. No such higher education plans as such.

Placement Experience:

At BIT Mesra third is like full of practice for placements and final year more of placements activities than studies. So, when all these things are in order placements obviously will be more or less certain and here they are certain only with almost 90% students are places through campus with annual placements of 8-10 lakhs per annum.

A Genuine Review

Placement Experience:

From 5th Semester onwards student are eligible for internship but from 7th semester they are allowed to sit in campus. Various companies like PayPal, Wipro , cognizant ,TCS ,Genpact ,Amdocs etc. Highest Package this year is 35 lpa and Average Package is around 7.5 lpa. Around 90% of students from circuital branch and around 80% students from non-circuital branch has been placed so far this year. My plan is prepare very smartly for campus placements and bag a very good PPO from are tech based company.

At BIT Mesra for our departments many cpre companies like Tatva Chintan, Laxmi Organics and Kanoria Chemicals were among some listed companies that came for placements. Luckily we are less in numbers and therefore 90% students from our batch were placed from here. My plans after getting the degree is to pursue masters from US.

I had NIT Raipur Chemical Engg, rejected it because I didn't like the campus amenities of the same, zero sports facilities, they play Football on a Red Soil literally. I got this in CSAB and hence it was a better ranked college than NITRR, i've heard of people opting a lower preferred branch in BITM over a branch in NITRR such the brand value of the college. I scored pretty avg in JEE 58k rank so wasn't eligible for all the clgs anyhow. Admission process is pretty simple JOSSA and CSAB. Actually This college was in my list but as a last option as i was getting RVCE and BMS few reputed colleges of bangalore but my parents insisted for this college as this college carries a good brand name of BIT,Mesra. Yes, Due to my not so good performance in JEE Mains I did not get the college i was hoping for. A student should first appear in JEE Mains and score a good percentile to get in to this college.
