Course Curriculum Overview

Computer Sciences and Electrical are my top preferred courses in the Bachelors of Technology. I have submitted my preference as CSE followed by ECE in the counselling round. I was alloted a seat in ECE of NIT Calicut.

Class Size: 50Course Fees: INR 65000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees varies depending on the family income. For availing the fee removal one need to submit their official income certificate to the college. I am currently studying 3rd year. I will get my placement next year.

Campus Life

The fests conducted here are Tathva and Ragam which will be conducted in October and March respectively. We have a library in the college where we can get all the books of our courses. Issuing of the books is done through the student ID card.

Admission

The process of getting into NIT is you need to clear JEE MAINS examination with a good rank. Each NIT has a respective cutoff for the courses that are offered there. One need to put their list of preferences in JOSAA counselling which comprises of 6 rounds. You can check your alloted seat after each round. The allotment is done based on the rank of the student in the JEE exam and the seat is alloted whic suits their rank. There will be some seats left in each college which will be put in a special round named CSAB of 2 rounds. The vaccancy will be given officially through the website. Students need to put their preference list once again and their alloted seat will be locked as the last choice in this list. Once these two are done, student needs to pay the fee and submit their documents in the respective institute website. The applications are available on the official page of NIT Calicut. Any doubts regarding the process or document submission can be asked to the helping desk.

from semister 6 students become eligible for campus placements and companies loke bank of america , google microsoft etc visited for campus placements and the highest package is about 54 lakhs where as average is 11 lakhs and about 98% of the students are placed

Placement Experience:

The placement here is top notch. This year in my campus the highest CTC offered was 56.5lpa by PALOALTO. Placements process is centralised at coimbatore though. Students are eligible for campus placements from third year or s5. Average package in computing department ranges from 10-12lpa. My plans after degree is to pursue MS: opportunities of which are provided by the college itself. In computing department almost 90% of the students have been placed according to the seniors I talked to. However it is lower in other streams.

Average student experience at amrita

Placement Experience:

As of what i spoke to the seniors they said that AI students got better placements compared to Core students and the average package is around 9LPA for CSE branches students and 7LPA overall for all the branches and there is CIR foundation classes where they teach us how to improve our communication skills and How to create a resume right from first year itself according to seniors it is very helpfull

An aspiring first year student’s review

Placement Experience:

Civil engineering is a course with least placement in every engineering colleges. Students are placed during their fourth year in college. Sobha Constructions Ltd is one of the main companies that visits college. 200000rupees package is the average package offered. Les than 25 percent civil engineers get placed. I plan to prepare for GATE exam and pursue more in this course.

I have choosen this college because it is of top 5 NITs and i am getting a good branch. I have apllied for remaining top nits also, but i got this for my jee mains rank( i couldn't make to other top nits because may be of lack of good preperation for jee). When compared to remianing NITs, this college has everything that every other NIT also have, the sports facilities here can be improved. Life at NITC by Vimosh Kumar

I wanted to get into Mechanical Engineering in any of the top NIT's so applied for all the NIT's in the NIRF ranking order with mechanical in every college so after the counselling happened to get into NIT Calicut. The admission process is through JoSAA Counselling where students come to the college after getting alloted but before that the student needs to clear the JEE Main Exam to get admitted into the college. A student's perspective

Accordind to NIRF rankings this is the top 27 Engineering college in India and top 3rd NIT. Admission process is only through JEE Mains Exam. You need very good percentile to join this college. Nit Calicut very good placements too....Read More
