Likes

Hostel facilities are good . Classrooms are also good.
Opportunity for students to be in sports is good and I like it
Our college fests are the best in south as per my knowledge

Dislikes

Water facility here is too bad. Drinking water is not that much good.
We are facing a slight discrimination as we are non natives
The way of teaching by the faculty members is not effective. It needs to be improved

Course Curriculum Overview

Curriculum in this NIT is good. We will be having a faculty advisor for every 50 students. I have interest in electronics. So I opted for this course . Faculty members are good . But the teaching techniques have to be modified. The style of their teaching is not much effective.

Class Size: 49Course Fees: INR 29000 per year

Internships Opportunities

After 2nd year companies visit our college for providing internship opportunities. Generally most of the students who are having a good cgpa have high chances for internships. Some core companies like Qualcomm and Texas offer internships for us.

Placement Experience

After 3_ 2 students are eligible to take part in placement opportunities. Number of visiting companies depend on the branch in which we are. Generally most of the companies recruite the students who knows coding. Average package is around 10 lakhs.

Fees and Financial Aid

Feee structure is based on caste and income of student family. My course fee is 11250 per sem . I didn't get any scholarship but few of my friends get nsp scholarship. For needy people bank loans are provided in our clg.

Campus Life

2 fests are conducted in our college. One is tech fest called tathva which is conducted in the month of October every year and one is cultural(annual) fest called ragam which is conducted in March. Sports are encouraged in our college. We have some clubs which are headed by the students.

Hostel Facilities

In our college we have nearly 10 hostels . In some of the hostels food quality and taste is good and in some of the hostels taste is not good. At the time of physical reporting we will be given a hostel to live in.

Hostel Fee: INR 66120 per year

Admission

We have an entrance exam jee mains .Cut off rank for our caste is 44503.Admission is done after the physical reporting of student where he/she needs to provide all the required documents like that of rank card, caste certificate etc..

Placement Experience:

The placement here is top notch. This year in my campus the highest CTC offered was 56.5lpa by PALOALTO. Placements process is centralised at coimbatore though. Students are eligible for campus placements from third year or s5. Average package in computing department ranges from 10-12lpa. My plans after degree is to pursue MS: opportunities of which are provided by the college itself. In computing department almost 90% of the students have been placed according to the seniors I talked to. However it is lower in other streams.

Average student experience at amrita

Placement Experience:

As of what i spoke to the seniors they said that AI students got better placements compared to Core students and the average package is around 9LPA for CSE branches students and 7LPA overall for all the branches and there is CIR foundation classes where they teach us how to improve our communication skills and How to create a resume right from first year itself according to seniors it is very helpfull

An aspiring first year student’s review

Placement Experience:

Civil engineering is a course with least placement in every engineering colleges. Students are placed during their fourth year in college. Sobha Constructions Ltd is one of the main companies that visits college. 200000rupees package is the average package offered. Les than 25 percent civil engineers get placed. I plan to prepare for GATE exam and pursue more in this course.

I have choosen this college because it is of top 5 NITs and i am getting a good branch. I have apllied for remaining top nits also, but i got this for my jee mains rank( i couldn't make to other top nits because may be of lack of good preperation for jee). When compared to remianing NITs, this college has everything that every other NIT also have, the sports facilities here can be improved. I wanted to get into Mechanical Engineering in any of the top NIT's so applied for all the NIT's in the NIRF ranking order with mechanical in every college so after the counselling happened to get into NIT Calicut. The admission process is through JoSAA Counselling where students come to the college after getting alloted but before that the student needs to clear the JEE Main Exam to get admitted into the college.
