Course Curriculum Overview

I chose this course as I see myself good in technical stuffs and this college provides a good curriculum and a better place for self development. Boy to girl ratio is 4:1 and faculty to student ratio is 1:60 .

Internships Opportunities

Many companies offers internships opportunities which stipend students upto 12000 . A student made a project on wearable bra that detects breast cancer and got college recognition. Many projects are made by the students.

Placement Experience

After 6th semester students are eligible for campus placement and internship . Many good companies like TCS , Wipro , Amazon came to hire students . Percentage of placement is 90% . Average package is 4-5 Lpa and highest package is 13Lpa.

Fees and Financial Aid

The total fees of four year is three lakh seventy thousand three hundred. The opportunity of scholarship is good but if you only belong to west bengal. If you have a residential certificate of west bengal you are able to avil scholarship.

Campus Life

There are many fest and events happens every year including Saraswati Puja and vishwakarma Puja . Sports fest is good here . There is a central library which provides all the books for your studies and interests.

Hostel Facilities

The Teachers are good at their level . All faculty are mtech and PhD holders . Some of them are from IIT . Hostel rent is very less and it provides good meal as per the fees . There are so many Pg available outside for your living.

Hostel Fee: INR 30000 per year

Admission

The eligibility of the course is based on WBJEE and JEE MAIN competitive exam . Based on your Exam rank you can get this college . The minimum cutoff for this college is 30,000 rank in WBJEE and 80 percentile above in JEE MAIN to get computer science branch easily.

Placement Experience:

At JGEC,campus placements begin mostly from the 6th/final year semester,when students become eligible .I recent years many well-known companies have visited such as Pinnacle Infotech,Synnova Gears & Transmissions Pvt.Ltd,,TCS,Jyesta corporate Entity and many more.The highest package was around 54 LPA form Google ,While the overall average is 10.2LPA.Many students also take internships, industrial training or prepare for higher studies(GATE) rather than accepting direct placement immediately.The exact percentage of student getting palcement is no where.But last year the percentage placed is 70%.

Overall the placement percentage of the college is good for both the core and non-core courses almost near 90%. All the students in there 3rd year i.e. in their 5th or 6th semester are elegible for campus placements. A few companies which visit the college are TCS, WIPRO, TECH MAHINDRA, INFOSYS, IBM, COGNIZANT, HUL, HCL, INDIAN OIL, MITSUBSHI, NJ INDIA, D-POWER,ETC. all the companies offer placement. highest on-campus package = inr 33 lakh where as the average is around 6lpa. After the degree, I plan to get a good placement in a core company and opt for GATE.

BCET Durgapur.Good campus but bad faculty and placement opportunities.

I say this earlier. First of all my JEE rank was little bit low, so I can't get any govt college. And at that time the CSE fees in almost every private college is arround 4 lakhs. But they asked high donation. Which was not affordable by my family. So I choose this college. Also I hear all private colleges are same.we have to do everything by ourselves.
