What Students Say

Likes

The campus is lush green with a huge campus area.
There is a wide range of branches to choose from.
There is no ragging or any such unlawful practices.

Dislikes

The hostels are separated by a large distance.
The junior senior interaction is very low .
There isn't much to dislike except for the big city culture to roam about.

Course Curriculum Overview

The mechanical engineering course is really interesting though extensive but it captures the learner's imagination and practicalism. People with interest in Automobile have it as their haven. The faculty:student ratio is 1:5 as per my branch.

Class Size: 132Course Fees: INR 430000 per year

Placement Experience

The students are eligible from the 7th semester to sit in college approved placements though there can be chances to apply off campus placements much before that. Atlassian, Oracle, Texas Instruments, Tata, Adani, Reliance, Aditya Birla Group, Samsung, Microsoft, Google Qualcomm Nvidia, Mediatek, Orient and Mahindra are afew to name. Highest this year was 84.5 LPA placed in Atalassian and average was 15lpa.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees are hiked likely on a regular basis. Though the cost as per the city of Ranchi may mot be justified as seen by many but this doesn't demeer the fact that it isn't really a lot if you want fo go to a college with some esteemed history.

Campus Life

BITOTSAV is the most celebrated and most awaited annual cultural fest held in March. Pantheon is the techfest which is held in October. The library is very well equipped with over a lakh offline as well as the same amount of online books available.

Hostel Facilities

The rooms can be a mess accomodating 2 people. Their is wifi available as well as LAN port in all rooms though the LAN doesn't work since it has stopped its services. The food quality is good but can be really boring. The hostel and mess are allocated at the admission time itself.

Hostel Fee: INR 51000 per year

Admission

I got admission through JEE Mains. The forms are available on the regular NTA website and the dates are usual as per Jee colleges. The reservation benefits are a lot because of the GFTI status though I couldn't avail them, yet they are a great help for the unprivileged.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum exam ready for students of mechanical engineering it focuses on industrial level exposure and for other competitive exams like gate and IES with good faculty who teaches almost all concepts. There are labs for each subject in which we get real world application knowledge. Also course is updated regularly as per the requirement of industry . The course can we improved by making course more practical rather than a writing all things on practical it should include project for students. Frequency of exam is that in every 15 days there is a exam with moderate to difficult level.

Placement Experience:

7th Semester students become eligible for placements. The highest package is offered by Rubrik in 2025 of 1.41 CR(domestic) High paying jobs are mostly for SWE/SDE roles. Percentage of students getting placed in CSE/AIML is 75, ECE 69, EEE 60, Mech 58. My plans after gettting degree is to get into job sector only for a while. No such higher education plans as such.

Placement Experience:

At BIT Mesra third is like full of practice for placements and final year more of placements activities than studies. So, when all these things are in order placements obviously will be more or less certain and here they are certain only with almost 90% students are places through campus with annual placements of 8-10 lakhs per annum.

A Genuine Review

Placement Experience:

From 5th Semester onwards student are eligible for internship but from 7th semester they are allowed to sit in campus. Various companies like PayPal, Wipro , cognizant ,TCS ,Genpact ,Amdocs etc. Highest Package this year is 35 lpa and Average Package is around 7.5 lpa. Around 90% of students from circuital branch and around 80% students from non-circuital branch has been placed so far this year. My plan is prepare very smartly for campus placements and bag a very good PPO from are tech based company.

At BIT Mesra for our departments many cpre companies like Tatva Chintan, Laxmi Organics and Kanoria Chemicals were among some listed companies that came for placements. I had NIT Raipur Chemical Engg, rejected it because I didn't like the campus amenities of the same, zero sports facilities, they play Football on a Red Soil literally. I got this in CSAB and hence it was a better ranked college than NITRR, i've heard of people opting a lower preferred branch in BITM over a branch in NITRR such the brand value of the college. I scored pretty avg in JEE 58k rank so wasn't eligible for all the clgs anyhow. Admission process is pretty simple JOSSA and CSAB. Actually This college was in my list but as a last option as i was getting RVCE and BMS few reputed colleges of bangalore but my parents insisted for this college as this college carries a good brand name of BIT,Mesra. Yes, Due to my not so good performance in JEE Mains I did not get the college i was hoping for. A student should first appear in JEE Mains and score a good percentile to get in to this college.
