Course Curriculum Overview

5

The course and curriculum are at par with the other MBA institutions like the IIMs. I chose this course as I had the rare IIM tag in my Bachelors and getting into IIT would give me the diversity in profile as well as a better overall Infrastructure and Placement. Faculty:Student ratio would be around 9:1 which is in my opinion fair enough for a management institution where most of the learning comes from peers. All of the teachers have PhDs and diverse backgrounds. Some of them also have great industry experiences which they share from time to time. Most of them discuss case studies to teach. Some also rely on the old-school theories. There are 2 semesters in a year and the examination load is much lighter as compared to other MBA institutions. Passing the exams is not at all tough.

Internships Opportunities

5

I got the summer internship opportunity in ICICI Bank. I will be interning their in the summer of 2024. It will be either in Mumbai or Vadodara. It will be in the domain of Sales and Marketing. I will be getting a stipend of 1.7 lakhs total for the 2 months. I am eagerly waiting for the same.

Fees and Financial Aid

Offering an MBA at around 11 lakhs with the backing of an old IIT makes DMS really unique. In my view, the fees is totally justified. There are rare hikes and around 1.5 lakhs go for the Global Field Study which is like a short exchange program. Currently, I have no scholarships or loans but many of my batchmates took loan from SBI. My Internship would help me get around 1.7 lakhs back from an internship in a reputed bank, this summer of 2024.

Campus Life

5

Life at campus is totally amazing after the first 6 months. For the first 6 months, MBA boys don't get a hostel. Girls get Sahyadri Hostel which is an amazing hostel. After the first semester, there is a lucky draw for the hostels between your batchmates, M.Tech, M. Des, and other masters students. I got the Jwalamukhi hostel, the rooms are pretty meh. However, the food is fine and most importantly the culture is amazing. Jwalamukhi Hostelers are called Dragons. You have tons of activities going on, totally depends on your willingness to participate. We enjoyed Rendezvous when we were day scholars. Amazing experience it was. Probably one of the biggest college fests in India. I started playing a lot of games here in MBA, including Pool, Table Tenis, Badminton, Weightlifting, and others. The sports facilities are better than any IIM or Bschool here. I am also a part of Sashakt which is the Entrepreneurship Committee and it brings great exposure to me as well. Overall, IIT Delhi is AMAZING

Hostel Facilities

5

I have been provided a room in Jwalamukhi hostel in the second semester. Next semester, we will be provided Dronagiri Hostel which is the best hostel here at IIT Delhi with almost 5 star like facilities. Jwalamukhi hostel is not about the rooms or restrooms. It is a legacy with a lot of legendary alums. You get to be a part of a culture here. The meal never disappoints you. Home like food everyday with special meals on special occasions. No compromises on the hygiene with regular inspections. Hostel registration process is basic once you get it. You just have to pay the fee on the e-scorner portal of IIT Delhi. Earlier, I lived in Saket which was expensive on top of which I had to buy food everyday. Compared to that IIT hostel is great. The only complaint I have is that they don't allow students to keep personal vehicles.

Admission

I took CAT and applied separately for DMS, IIT Delhi when their form was released. Eligibility is similar to other IIMs, 60% in graduation. 55% for SC/ST/PWD. The application form was on the website of DMS. It was released and published by the institute. I got the benefit of OBC reservation as I got shortlisted on a lower percentile. However, I had a great profile 9/9/8 in 10th/12th/Graduation. The only improvement could be to reduce the number of lists released by the institute.

Interview Experience

5

After the CAT exam, filling up the application form, IIT Delhi shortlists and releases calls for Personal Interviews(PIs). The PIs are the last round from the side of an applicant. The interview totally depends on the faculty, it can be around foundational Management topics, current affairs, static GK, discussion on Geopolitics, etc. Most of it is general and it is not a stress interview. I prepared using their preparatory material provided by the institute itself.

The university provide both the internship and placements opportunities to the students. For summer internships the companies start visiting the campus after 4-5 months from joining the college and everyone is eligible for that. The 2 month summer internship is mandatory for every student. And for final placements companies visits in the last semester of the course. The highest package for MBA is 23 lakhs and average package is approx 7-8 lakhs. The placements rate is approx 70-80% In terms of ROI college is good.

Curriculum of this college follows almost all the important aspects which are needed to step into the real world of business. In every semester there are two types of subjects. One is practical and the second is theory. In 4th semester their subjects like statistics, managerial economics and financial accounting which will really help us to understand the business world. And in theory subjects like marketing, human resource management, organizational behavior are very important. Study is mainly focused on case study basis which helps how we can apply these concepts in the real problems.

Placement Experience:

The placements of IIFT DELHI are at par with some of the old IIM's like Lucknow, Indore, Kozhikode. Iift is beast when it comes to finance and marketing. Every major international bank and every hedge fund visit the campus for recruitment. Also IIFT caters to some trade companies that only recruit from this college and don't visit any other campus in India. Last year 102 companies visited the campus , the median package was around 26 lakhs and average was around 27 lakhs. Highest package stood at 85 lakhs. And 100 percent placement was achieved. I'll be most probably going for working in a bank or a hedge fund after the degree
