Likes

Sports is given importance here so good for sporty people
Discipline is highly monitored. So good for careless people.
Good placement. They are trying hard to get all their students placed

Dislikes

No cultural fest. Bad for people with other interests other than sports
No social life. It feels like a robot making factory. No social clubs nothing. It would've helped in gaining confidence.
Very few teachers can actually teach. Maximum are not good

Course Curriculum Overview

Due to good scope in career in this department, I chose this course. Faculties are lesser than needed, quality is also low. Qualifications are average not that good. Hardly 2 teachers are good in a department who can actually teach. Every month we have exams which is not necessary I believe as it hinders us from doing unique stuff and learn new technologies. Passing exams are easy

Placement Experience

From 7th sem, students become eligible for campus. NRIFT, Mindtree, P360, Incture these are the few companies that visit. Cognizant comes but this year they haven't. Usually maximum students get placed but this year not so. Highest package goes till 10LPA and lowest is around 3LPA.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees structure has recently increased which I think should show in teaching quality and good placements. We will see that. Cost is average compared to other colleges. Financial assistance is given, I don't know about it in details. Job I'm not sure

Campus Life

No annual fest, no tech fest. Social life is NULL here. Books are available but still not enough I would say. Older versions of book are there. Few good books which we need are not available most of the time. No social groups, clubs or websites. I wish they could've have that

Admission

Eligibility was to get 6000-8500 rank to get into CSE dept. Application form comes in the wbjee website and then the college's website TFW benefits are available as far as my knowledge goes. No there are no improvement needed.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is very relevant and useful for us.They teach data structures algorithm that is very important for college placements and they also teach os, networks and other usefull things that is very important in computer science.They provide very high quality labs and the whole college has a good internet connection.Tecahers are very educated and good they helps us and teaching in very good way .The exams time schedule is also very good if there is any problem the college will change the exam date that is really a good thing.

Story of hit

Placement Experience:

The campus placement from recently past years is slightly good . Like tcs infosys cognizant ibm Capgemini like companies comes every year with good placement and capsitech gives you internship from 3 year . From 7th sem you are eligible for campus placement in 2025 the avg package is 5-7 lpa and Highest lpa is 75lpa . My plan is getting good job in good company

Placement Experience:

7th semester is when the students get to sit for placements. I am not sure about the total no of companies visited but I am aware of the name of few companies like IBM Infosys Wipro Capsitech Tech Mahindra cognizant etc . Mostly the girls are 100 percent placed cause there is diversity hiring. Mass recruiters is what visit our campus mostly.. I personally would look for a job after graduation highest package offered displayed by college is 75 lpa but I don't think so it is real. Maybe someone had worked hard and got placed off campus. On campus highest isbi guess 12-14 lpa

Course Curriculum Overview:

- I choose Data Science as it is new to my college when comparing with the other branches. The curriculum is just okay it is not per industry standards but if students deep drives in each aspects then they are likely to crack GATE exams. - The whole curriculum needs and improvement from the very 1st Year and removal of irrelevant subjects like Discrete Mathematics, Electonics, Biology for IT branches are required. - Semester exams are conducted every 6 months and CTs are conducted every 2 months

NIT Durgapur:-A wholesome Insight in the college life and it's different aspects

Placement Experience:

For campus placements student become eligible from the 7th semester onwards and for internships student get eligible from 5th semester onwards. Wide no of companies visited our campus around 180+ and made around 580+ offers to the students. The highest salary was 58LPA which was offered by DE Shaw and the highest accepted salary was 51LPA in Microsoft.The average package rolls roughly around 10-12 LPA.The profile offered include SDE roles, management roles,finance in some cases.The overall placement percentage was around 80% with Branches like electrical and metallurgy moving above 90% followed by CSE and ECE in the mid 80s while for biotech and civil the placement percentage are generally below 70.My plans after getting the degree is to land a job offer from on campus placements.Therefafter maybe look out for and MBA from top B schools of india.

placement is very good in this college many tech giants vist the campus such as google microsoft delloite apple tata steels, thhe average package is about 16 lpa highest is 80lpa approx 148 companes visted this year and total offer for cse is 157 out of 190
