Iitkgp with my perspective

I chose civil engineering because I've always been fascinated by the idea of creating structures that stand the test of time and positively impact communities. Faculties here are highly educated and most of them are very friendly and are always ready to help us students. We have 2 exams each semester. Mid sem and final sem. For me, it is difficult to even passed these exams as in the first year we have to learn those subjects which are not in the course

The companies that visit IIT Kharagpur includes Qualcomm, Microsoft, Google, Uber, Intel, American Express, Honeywell, Samsung, IBM and many more. Well I guess cgpa matters the most but extra curricular activites are also considered important for the portfolio.

The college conduct placement drives where numerous companies, both national and international, participate to recruit graduates for various roles. These companies span a wide range of sectors, including technology, finance, consulting, research and development, and more

Hall fee is around Rs 37000 and tuition fee Rs 100000. Well, there is no scholarship for ST students (don't know about the others). One can apply for summer internship after end of 1st year if they want to. As for placement, well known companies come to our college.

There are many fest take place in the college like the biggest tech fest in asia, kshitij and many others. When it comes to availability of books, we have one of the biggest campus library, so there is no problem with that. There are clubs for every sports so anyone can join and play whatever they want. There are also sport competitions between halls. Also extra curricular is mandatory for everyone. Hence, everyone has to do some physical work.

There are 16 boys and 5 girls hostel. And most of them are huge and have more than 1000 students in them. I have only two problems with my hall. First, there is no lift. My room is in 5th floor so it is too tiresome to always climb up and down to go anywhere. Second, the mess food (everyone hall has that problem i guess). Though it's not bad, it is just ok enough to eat. These are the only problem. Else it's very good. Rooms are big enough for three people ,janitor comes every Saturday to clean the room.

I had to clear jee advance. As an ST, cutoff marks was 43 in total out of 360. After clearing the exam, the counselling, which is comducted by josaa, starts where we have to select our preferred colleges and branches. I had to submit some certificates like st, birth, medical, etc for applying for the college.
