Remarks

Overall experience at NSIT has been amazing, primarily because of placement opportunities, peer group and the prime location of the campus (Dwarka).I love the whole campus. It is green and has a certain air of ancient beauty about it. I stroll around the grounds and the walks in my free time and those are the best memories I am going to keep about college.I also have got some great friends. It is I think what is called lifelong friendship that we share. It is really good.

Entrance Preview

I sat for the JEE examinations. There were two levels of exam- the Prelims and the JEE Mains. There was no interview after that. But there was the counselling process according to which we were allowed to choose colleges or assigned them as per seat availability. NSIT ranks best in computer engineering in Delhi, after IIT Delhi.I hadn't gotten into the IIT so my next obvious choice was NSIT. I wanted to pursue a career in Computer sciences because everyone says I have a kind-o-knack or everything to do with computers. I felt that too and am passionate about programming and such stuff.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course of my batch is not revised. It has got some portions that aren't relevant right now. The subject itself is constantly evolving with the new discoveries and inventions that are made every year. But the curriculum is not revised as often as necessary to catch up with the changes. But the course for my juniors is now revised and accommodates all the necessary knowledge required to become a computer engineer. I wish we had the same syllabus but the introduction of the new curriculum was delayed due to some technicalities. The practicals are the main focus in our course. Electives are available only in the final year of study. Yes, there are research initiatives in college.

Internships Opportunities

Yes, the college provides on campus internship, wherein companies visit the campus to select you as an intern. The stipend varies from company to company, from around 15k per month to 1 lac per month. If you choose well, you can get amazing opportunities working as an intern. It looks really good on your CV during placements and the money is an added benefit. Even the company hiring you as the intern, depending upon your work, can easily give you the PPO letter.

Placement Experience

5

When it comes to placement, there is no college better than NSIT you can think of. It ensures 100% placement for computer engineering students and the companies visiting the campus are usually the companies one has always dreamed about working in. The major ones like Google, Microsoft, Infosys and Apple come for placements. At the end of the year, it is the one thing that every student looks forward to. The college has a 100 percent placement history and no one in the computer sciences batch has veer gone without a job in the campus placements.

College Events

3

Many events take place, namely eSummit (entrepreneurial fest), Moksha(cultural fest), etc. They are all arranged by the college management with the help of the students. It is all organized on a large scale and the footfall every year is somewhere around a 500-600 per event. We have students visiting the campus from all over India and sometimes from abroad for these events. The prizes for the competitions are mind-blowing. Moksha involves dance, music and ethnic displays. It is more of a fun event.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Being a government organisation, NSIT is not much expensive. There are great facilities at such minimal rates. I am glad that I got to study here with the kind of fee. I pay only around 1 lakh per year. If you compare that to the 3 lakh or so that an engineering students has to pay in a private college, we are way better than that. The college has a nominal fee that is equal to what the government fixes each year.

Fees and Financial Aid

Scholarship is provided only to underprivileged students. Loan is provided via SBI. Te college has some tie-up with SBI through which the students who join there can easily avail educational loans from SBI, but at the usual interest rates. It is a great help form the college's part. In our stream the fee is not too high, but the facility really helps students in those streams where fee rates are high.

Campus Life

3.5

Extracurricular opportunities are less in NSIT as compared to academic opportunities. There are various clubs and sports facilities but the encouragement to participate are rare. If the students want to do something, they must take time off academics and pursue these. The main focus here is always on academics. We have games, chess, table tennis and football in campus. I am not a great sports man but I do enjoy chess well. I play that often in our restrooms.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

The hostels are much better than expected from a govt institution. The washrooms are clean. Decorum is maintained. Mess food is good as well. We have rooms shared among two, three or four students. It is all well maintained and furnished. The whole atmosphere of the hostel is well-suited for study. We have strict timings to be back in hostels in the evenings. There are also mess hours after which no food is served.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni network is good. We have yearly interactions with the alumni of the college. The institution arranges it well so that it serves as a time for the alumni to catch up on each others lives while benefiting the students. We get to know about all the various professions the alumni have entered into. It opens up various doors that we have before us in our careers. It is a great opportunity we get. The alumni sometimes talk of the personal experiences, the mistake and the right decisions etc that they have had in their life. It is really illuminating.

Exam Structure

In one semester there are two exams and one practical per subject. The main exams are mid sems (20 marks), end sems theory (100 marks) and end sems practical (100 marks). They are not so tough if you keep up with the theory and practicals on a daily basis and it is better if you do because the whole portions to be covered are not easy to learn the day before the exams. It wasn't a chill culture but it wasn't a total stressful one too.

Faculty

3.5

The faculty is good. ECE department witnesses some of the best faculty members who have written their own papers and books. Faculty of other departments are also equally good. Most of my professors have M.Phils, PhDs or M.Tech degrees. They use innovative technique sin classrooms to provide us better understanding of the topics. In labs they help us well in doing or creating programmes. Anything new is always welcome in programming sessions. That kind of encouragement really makes us work hard and find new info about the subjects. Some teachers interact with students well while some are a bit detached. Nut they all teach well regardless o personal behaviors. The standards of teaching is quite up to the ark.

Placements are good especially during recession. You're eligible for placements after 3rd year. After 2nd Year you're eligible for Internships. All Big Companies like Google Microsoft Apple Goldmansachs Mckinsey etc. Highest package offered till now in 2025 is 85LPA (Atlassian) Average of CSE is 17 -18 lpa . almost 53% people get placed in 2025 (recession time). See The degree OF DTU has its value. So it gives you an edge while you go for off campus.

The placement rate here is around 70-75% on an avg in all branches and sometimes even higher. After 1st year only , multiple opportunities starts coming . After 1st year and before 2nd year , basically in summer vacation we have to do a compulsory internship (college also provides) and we are provided a credit for that . Then multiple opportunities like GOOGLE STEP ,amacon internship , etc come.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The university doesn't beat around the bush while deciding the courses. They have picked only the subjects and the curriculum that are suitable for our field and focus on making us future-ready. Some subjects might seem a little fast-paced, but if you are consistent enough, you won't face any problems. It is safe to say that the exams and things taught in most the subjects are same to that of its so there is no lacking behind in that aspect.
