My college -the decision made for a new life

I have a passion about marine career, about sea ,travelling around the world and the adventure.The facilty student ratio is quite good around 30 students will have one faculty which is appreciated. Mostly experienced seafarers with competitive certification are handling the subjects. Two semester per year therefore six monthly once will be the comprehensive exams in between mid semester exams also been conducted.

After a six monthly hands on training or internship on the mock up ship available in the campus the students will be placed on the ships for onboard training by the shipping companies as trainee marine engineer. Their task is normally to familiarize, to learn ,to experience themselves.

From second year onwards students are eligible for scholarships and at the sixth semester the student will be eligible for campus Placement.There are about ten companies NYK, SYNERGY, MSC, FLEET, BSSM, K LINE ETC. In my batch around 96 percentage was the Placement.

Normally the fee structure is high when compared to other engineering courses. We get campus placement with a decent stipend at successful completion of the course.If a student is placed by any of the companies then he gets scholarships from the third year onwards.

We do get up early in the morning for physical training which is mandatory as per dg shipping requirements. Cultural fest conducted early once.We have vast collection of marine related books and journals available in our library. Classes are equipped with OHP for teaching also with cctv cameras. College also encourage sport activities like cricket,football etc with experience coach and team.

Every student has separate room provided with a bed and pillow ,blanket,study table, chair,alumero etc.Normally food is vegetarian but egg is provided a balanced diet is maintained. Once a student is selected for course admission he will be admitted in the hostel since this is a residential course.

Admission was done by PCM marks that should be above 60 percentantage.Also need medical fitness with basic requirements specially eye vision.The application can obtained from the college website also the course fee and other details.As far as I know there was no reservation benefits provided by college if provided would be better for the poor students.
