Remarks

On an overall note the administration was good and my conclusion was to join this college if your passion is to join ship and in a university like Bits.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

All amenities provided was decent and they followed rules smilar to onboard like following muster time shore leave and even fire rounds in hostel every day. The course deal with purely how to be an officer on a merchant vessel. Since I chose engineering I had subjects related to engineering and various machinery on board ships.

Placement Experience

3

Many companies like BW shipping, INDIA CEMENTS, WALLEM, PIL etc. We have our own shipping campus where we train the students.

College Events

3.5

Technical events like seminar is being conducted every sem in any current topic which is attended by various marine college. Other than that we have national Maritime day sports day founders day independence and republic day. Since we have a limited seats and courses there will not be that much of crowd but a decent one.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It is little bit expensive I had to pay around 10. 5 lacs for 4 year degree including hostel amenities. They accept neft dd and rtgs mode of payment for paying fees. The college will issue consolidated fees details in mail as well as in person. Sometimes there was increase in fee for hostel because of the rise in price of groceries.

Fees and Financial Aid

There are certain company which will provide you with scholarship for studying and all government aided and government banks will sanction education loan based on their fulfilment of criteria.

Campus Life

3.5

Since it is a specialised course we had people from all over India the diversity is so vast that it took time for us to understand the pra followed by different state people after second year to was going good and was a great experience. During Maritime week we will have vsrious competition which include like making working model for the project that makes it exciting.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Yes, since this course is a residential one every one must stay in the hostel. The rooms are good and individual room for every single person bathourooms and comodes will be cleaned regularly and there is a ro plant for drinking water and a recycle plant for water scarcity.

Alumni/Alumna

Since our job is mostly onboard there is no chance of meeting regularly but as a group on social media makes us united and they are helpful.

Admission

I chose this college because it was one of the best institute during that period. The admission procedure is to attend the all India entrance exam and in counseling you will get to select the college. I opted this course because of my passion towards ship and exploring ocean.

Faculty

4

Approx we had 10 core related faculty and 15 other engineering faculties. All core faculties are well experienced and ages range between 40-60 even we have visiting faculty from onboard and video conferencing facility is available where experienced faculty are taking lecturers.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is well designed and covered both fundamental and advanced concepts. We choose elective papers each sem one paper from third sem. That selection of elective papers made us to do case study of real world exposure and competency. The curriculum prepared us for the reasonable real world applications. Also workshops and internships bridged the gap between industry expectations and academics. The teaching methods are really supportive and knowledgeable. On the whole the curriculum was strong and but needs to be imapctful.
