Likes

Most teachers are very good and supportive
Many kinds of books available in library
Different tournaments and activities take place during Magnus

Dislikes

Language lab speakers do not tend work mostly
DSA lab computers are very outdated and most dont have internet
Canteen needs some better chefs and food quality needs to get better

Course Curriculum Overview

I chose this course because I was interested For every 60 student there is 1 faculty. However they are hiring more recently Most faculties are highly qualified from reputed top universities and teach quite well 4 CA exams and 2 PCA exams and 1 PA and 1 sem exam for every semester. Need to study a bit to pass, not too easy

Class Size: 60Course Fees: INR 90000 per year

Placement Experience

From 6th semester students become eligible for campus placements Tata, Mahindra, Wipro, Infosys, Cognizant, etc many companies visit during campus placements 80% of students get placements My plan is to get a descent job then I'll think what to do

Fees and Financial Aid

No fees hike in the past few years Total course fee is 384000 Miscellaneous fees are taken sometimes I did not get any scholarship and I am in 2nd year so no ideas about the number of jobs students get on campus

Campus Life

No annual fests but a fest called Magnus is held at the beginning of the year. Lots books are available of different types but the quantity of each is a bit less for the total number of students Classroom amenities is ok Sports and other activities are held in the Magnus itself Many groups are created by college students

Admission

Any rank from WBJEE or JEE mains can get admission Application form has to be collected from college after competitive exam results are published Some seats are reserved but I don't know the details The registration process is quite slow so they need to speed up a bit

Placement Experience:

At JGEC,campus placements begin mostly from the 6th/final year semester,when students become eligible .I recent years many well-known companies have visited such as Pinnacle Infotech,Synnova Gears & Transmissions Pvt.Ltd,,TCS,Jyesta corporate Entity and many more.The highest package was around 54 LPA form Google ,While the overall average is 10.2LPA.Many students also take internships, industrial training or prepare for higher studies(GATE) rather than accepting direct placement immediately.The exact percentage of student getting palcement is no where.But last year the percentage placed is 70%.

Placement Experience:

Placement opportunities are overall good, students can apply for the placement form 5th and 6th semester and can get PPOs's companies like Microsoft, google, amazon comes during the placement season and every year, so many students get placed even with a package greater than 2cr INR. The average package is around 18 Lakhs.

Overall the placement percentage of the college is good for both the core and non-core courses almost near 90%. All the students in there 3rd year i.e. in their 5th or 6th semester are elegible for campus placements. A few companies which visit the college are TCS, WIPRO, TECH MAHINDRA, INFOSYS, IBM, COGNIZANT, HUL, HCL, INDIAN OIL, MITSUBSHI, NJ INDIA, D-POWER,ETC. all the companies offer placement. highest on-campus package = inr 33 lakh where as the average is around 6lpa. From 8th semester the students get eligible for campus placements . Some good companies like TCS Capgemini Infosys visited campus . Amazon also visited our campus the highest package is about 22 lakhs and average packages 5.5 lakh . about 80% student of CSE , IT and ECE branches get placed.

So first talk about the admission procedure : there are two ways to get into this college for btech admission is by JEE and WBJEE entrance exam. Ok taking account of these exam ranks you can take admission into this college and the average rank for CSE branch by WBJEE is under 20-25k.
