Course Curriculum Overview
The M.B.A. curriculum is a bit hectic due to the various types of courses the faculty members teach. Faculties are supportive; they all hold their degrees from multiple premier institutes in the world with fantastic knowledge about the domains and unique styles of teaching, which are admired the most for getting interested in theoretical subjects. In M.B.A., we met with students from every corner of India and also from diverse cultures.
Internships Opportunities
Companies such as I.C.I.C.I., H.D.F.C., D.E. SHAW, Jio creatives, Digit, Kalolwala, Perceptive analytics, Ed-tech companies, marketing companies, pharmaceutical companies, multinational companies, MRCC group, etc, with roles in H.R., marketing, operations, finance, content writing, business development roles offered by the companies. The stipend varies from company to company, and roles range from 15k to 1 lakh.
Placement Experience
Our college provides the facility of campus placements with 200+ companies with different types of roles and a good amount of stipends, which is more than 10 lakh in hand. Also, the placement committee is doing great in placement from more companies for specified roles, and it keeps improving every year. Some seniors have pre-placement offers in the company from which they have completed their internships. Every student gets placed, and the placement season starts from August onwards, from the 4th semester.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure is less expensive than that of other I.I.M.s. The fees include the tuition fees and hostel charges along with wifi connections. There are many government scholarships, such as Central and state government scholarships. Job stipend varies with the company and roles offered, and if I talk about summer internships, which range from 25k to 1lakh.
Campus Life
The most beautiful thing I want to mention is the view of the mountains. Therefore, IIM SIRMAUR is known as Himalayan I.I.M. All the festivals are celebrated with all customs and traditions. It's like connecting people from every part of the country and building a solid relationship between them. Although we have hectic schedules, we don't get any holiday on festivals. We enjoy our M.B.A. life. Many clubs and committees are based on domains like finance, operation, H.R., marketing, and tourism club. The students run every club, various case competitions are organized by them only, and students also run all committees. Even the fest is organized by all the clubs and committees evolving with each other.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel facility is good and includes all the facilities such as purified drinking water, well-furnished types of furniture, spacious rooms, washing machines, etc. The mess is the same for everyone, with different daily menus, healthy food, and always a special dinner in 1 month with tasty food items. The registration process is under the admission process only. The hostel is near the academic building on the campus.
Admission
CAT known as the Common Admission Test, is conducted by IIM for the MBA course. The test duration is 2 hours and 40 minutes for each section. Any graduate can apply for this course by attempting the CAT exam. The application form starts in August and the exam is conducted in the last week of November every year. The selection process starts with GD/PI candidates getting shortlisted on the basis of percentile which varies for different categories.
Interview Experience
In IIM CAP calls, there is only a personal interview round, around 15 to 30 minutes, depending on the questions asked. IIM CAP calls have no Group Discussions. Old I.I.M.s have GD rounds or written assessments as a selection process for admission criteria. I have been given Group Discussions for FMS BHU, which I have prepared by reading the newspaper for current and hot topics.
