Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I chose this course to upskill myself and get more corporate exposure. I believe further education in business management provides a wide range of opportunities, and learning in a global setting will enrich all to acquire multiple skills. The Department of Management Studies has a student-to-faculty ratio of 6:1, which helps students interact with faculty members and learn from them more. The esteemed faculty members who teach the specializations are from Tier 1 management Institutes, including IIM Ahmedabad, Banglore, Calcutta, and many more. They keep calls interactive with meaningful conversations and Harvard-based case studies and competitions. To add they also publish research papers and articles in their expertise and encourage the students to do the same. The exams are patterned as Major and Minor exams along with Multiple surprise quizzes and presentations with all having different weightage and they strictly follow the academic calender published by the Institute.

Placement Experience

4.5

From the first Semester itself, we will be preparing for our Internship process along with the academics. The Big 5's visit our campuses along with other reknowed firms from different domains like Consulting, marketing, Operations, Finance, IT/ Analysts, and HR. The highest package received was for 45 lakhs CTC with a median of 25 lakhs with a 100% placement record throughout the years. My plan is to explore the corporate realm and upskill myself for my future endeavors.

Fees and Financial Aid

Department of Management Studies, IIT Delhi, is one of the colleges that maintains a strict fee hike policy. The tuition fee is around 8 lakhs for General and OBC, around no tuition fee for SC/ST, and a hostel fee of around 50 thousand each semester. They provide scholarships with some fee exceptions for the top students. For the rest, you need to apply outside the campus using the bona fide certificate they provided. The numerous live projects and case competitions circulated during the courses come with decent stipends.

Campus Life

4.5

The Annual Cultural Fest of DMS, IIT Delhi is Parivartan, which is being held in the month of March. Being under the Umbrella of IIT Delhi, we also get to take part in the technical and Cultural fest named TRYST and Rondevous which happens in the month of November. We have a Central library near the main building with 3 floors and a digital library with all of the academic material. We also get free access to Grammarly and other News Applications for free reading. The whole Campus has strong wifi and individual classrooms has amenities like AC, a Projector, and a podium with speakers and a mike. IIT Delhi provides sports and extracurricular activities with good priority. They conduct Intr-college events like Sportstech and General Hostel Competition and also constantly participate in Inter-IIT competitions held in the month of December during the winter breaks.

Admission

The admission process was conducted in a well-scheduled manner. Once the CAT results were out, we had to apply separately in the Department of IIT Delhi portal, paying a small fee ranging from 1000 to 2000. The application will be valid till the end of January. Then, based on the application details you filled out in the portal, the IIT Delhi administration will shortlist you accordingly for the interview. The Cut-off for CAT exam is 95 percentile for General, 85 for OBC, and 60-70 for SC/ST. If you avail for any reservation, you need to upload the category certificate along with the other educational and extracurricular activities. Then, once called upon for the interview, you need to submit the original documents along with a photocopy for the submission to the admission cell. The admission is not solely based on your CAT score, your work experience, PI, extracurriculars, and hobbies also will be looked upon for the admission.

Interview Experience

4

After getting Shortlisted, it was carried on with a Personal Interview Round. The PI is mainly conducted by a panel of 4 or 5 members among our esteemed faculties. They initially started with an introduction question and then will later on carry on from the introduction given by us and also focus on the awareness about the recent news and the knowledge we have in our expertise and UG streams. The Department Admission Committee will attach a Compendium along with the Interview call letter, which includes the recent developments and other Global and Local events. The way I prepared was by first analyzing my strengths. I read newspapers daily to keep in touch with recent events and also framed some personal basic questions like Tell me about yourself, Why MBA, and about my UG graduate degree stream basics. It helped me come up with a good Introduction that focuses on my skills.

You get an opportunity to learn and become a more responsible person. You need to attend classes as they carry marks but you also need to be active and do other things as well in order to learn as many things as possible. It teaches you a lot. Since the infrastructure is shared with other courses also, at times it becomes difficult to get access to seminar halls and other things.
