Remarks

The admission was done solely through JEE Mains General rank. No reservation benefits are allowed. The application form, fees and dates can be found at the college website. Admission process was smooth and managed in an organised manner.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I chose this course because it offers a lot of potential in the future and had an interest in computer sciences. The faculty to student ratio for the first two years is very good since each year there are a maximum of 200 students and there are more than 15 professors. All of the faculty here hold a PhD. from various reputed foreign institutions and are avidly focused on their research works as well. Term exams happen every six months and as of the first year, just listening to classes can make you pass very easily.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

IIIT Bangalore shines as a beacon of academic excellence, fostering an environment tailored for dedicated students with a penchant for studying and grinding. The absence of a reservation policy ensures a diverse and merit-driven cohort, fostering meaningful connections with like-minded peers. While the campus may be petite, its intimate setting fosters a close-knit community. Despite the higher fees, the investment is justified by the exceptional placement opportunities, particularly in the realms of technology and research. The faculty, adorned with PhDs from prestigious institutions, including abroad and esteemed institutions like IIT and IISc, exemplify a commitment to delivering top-notch education. IIIT Bangalore stands as a testament to a holistic educational experience, where a focus on academics and a conducive learning atmosphere converge for a promising future.

Placement Experience

4.5

Placements are provided from the 8th semesters, however pre placement offers can be achieved from the 6th semester itself. Companies like Apple, Microsoft, Google, Qualcomm, AMD, Mathworks, Texas Instruments, Intel are among the top recruiters. There is about 2 to 3 times the placement offers when compared to student count. The recent highest package was 2.02 crores and the average package is around 35 lakh per annum. All of the students were placed (100% placement) I'm currently a first year, so I haven't thought much about what I will do after getting my degree.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fee hikes don't occur. Instead they are predetermined in the fees info page on the college website. As of 2023-24, It costs about 30 lakhs to study here. Jee Main rankers holding rank below 999 get exemption from 22,40,000 rs of tuition fees and there is a generous scholarship for female students as well. On campus jobs are limited to roles like Teaching Assistants or Research Scholars.

Campus Life

3

The annual tech fest is Infin8 which is conducted in February. The tech fest, Synergy is conducted in November. There are plenty of books and research papers available in the library. The classrooms are equipped with projectors, a computer with writing tablet, AC and individual seats. Sports and extra curricular activities include badminton, lawn tennis, volleyball, basketball, football and cricket which are arranged in a somewhat congested manner in the 9 acre campus. There are various clubs for Photography, Films, Competitive Programming, Robotics, Dance, Music, etc.

Hostel Facilities

4

Room facilities include Power Connections, Wifi Routers, Good ventilation, plenty of storage. Meal Menu is vast and quality is assured by thorough food testing. Hostel rooms are accomodated or can be changed by contacting the respective authorities conveniently. Hostels are a bit on the costlier side with fees of 26,000 per semester (for 10semesters in imtech course)

Other Applied Colleges

IIT Guwahati - Indian Institute of Technology - [IITG] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Civil Engineering)

I was more interested in getting a good curriculum and placements. I wanted to opt for CSE over Civil Engineering at IIT
