Since 2018, IIIT Bangalore has been part of the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JOSSA) for admissions, reserving 50% of seats for home state students through a separate counseling process. Female students and those maintaining at least a 3.6/4 CGPA can receive scholarships up to 50,000 INR per year. Various scholarships like the Utkarsha Scheme and CGPA-based scholarships are offered for high-performing students. The total tuition fee for a 5-year course is about 30 lakhs, with hostel and mess charges of 38,000 INR and 28,000 INR per semester, respectively.

On-campus job opportunities are limited, with Teaching Assistant roles offering approximately 15,000 INR per year from the third year onwards. Loan facilities are accessible through nearby banks.
