The Latest placement data of IIIT Bangalore has been released on its official website. As per the placement data of 2025, the total offers that were made at this institute were 656, of which 306 were full-time offers. During IIIT Bangalore Placement total of 14 students were selected on a package of more than INR 60 LPA, and 54 students were selected between INR 40 LPA to INR 60 LPA. The placement percentage of the Integrated M.Tech Program was 95%.Top recruiters were Adobe, Microsoft, Flipkart, Google, Infosys.

The placement and the internship oppurtunities in this college are excellent , people are doing internship in 2nd year ,winning national level hackathons.

Placement Experience:

The college placements are very excellent for the IMtech CSE we have average package of 33.4 lakhs and the meadican package is about 28 lakhs and the groudn report is that many good companies like google ,microsoft ,paypal ,amazon etc come every year and they recurit like 4-5 people each company which is very good in my opinion , the total no of offers made were 511 (278 were full time offers and 311 internship offers), the highest package is 65 lakh but a year back it was 2 cr , in imteach cse the percentage of students placed are 90 percent , and an internship for 100% people, so i geniuenly also joined this clg because of the placement stats and i will aslo sit in the college placement and want to be placed in a FAANG company.

Placements are just superb, the percentagae is almost 100 for btech students, and too many comapanies visit the college, because of the location of bangalore, All kinds of companies visit the campus covering the various domains. which are ai/ ml, sde, embedded, vlsi, consulting etc . there are around of 80 90 companies which visit the campus each year and the numeber of offers exceed the number of students most of the time. my plans is to be in IT Sector then after some time go for some foriegn university phd.

Placements provided on the campus are average and students completing half of the course can avail for the placements. cognizant is one the company that offers role of Google adwords and DWAO is another one that offers the role of analyst trainee, likewise there are around 100+ companies that offers roles to students of our campus. the highest package offered is around 350000 and the lowest is 180000 for a fresher. I think around 20 to 30 percent of people get placed.

Here are a few details on the 2023 placement stats for M.Tech CSE at IIIT Bangalore-

121 students out of a total of 144 were successfully placed.
Top recruiters visited the campus for placements. This list includes- HP, Amazon, Microsoft, Adobe, Samsung, and Qualcomm, among other reputed names.
Master’s students from CSE and ECE received higher study offers from reputed universities. The names of these universities are- IISc Bangalore, PennState, Texas A&M University, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, The University of Texas At Dallas, the University at Buffalo and the University of Twente.

The placements for M.Tech are very good at IIIT Bangalore. You can consider this college for your higher studies.

First, let us discuss some reasons for the high placement records of IIIT Bangalore CSE department-

IIIT Bangalore does not believe in the system of mugging before an exam and filling out the answer sheets.
The curriculum is updated every few years, and assignments and projects are an important part of all courses.
Unlike the NITs, IIITB won’t make you study irrelevant subjects in your first year. You’ll study only the subjects relevant to your CSE degree from the beginning itself.
You’ll learn basic CS in the first few semesters. The rest of the semesters will be utilized in teaching you advanced topics like ML, AI, CV, NLP, etc.

Now the reasons for low cutoffs, despite high placements are-

It is a public-private co-owned college. This is why its fees are much higher in comparison to NITs.
The admissions are completely merit-based. This increases the availability of seats.
There can be a huge rank difference between the second last admission, and the last admission. So one should not judge the merit of a college based on its cutoff ranks.
IIITs are comparatively new in this race. Even then, they are growing at a tremendous speed.
IIITB offers limited courses. It offers iM.Tech instead of B.Tech.

These are the reasons why iM.Tech CSE cutoffs are so low at IIIT Bangalore, while their placement records are better than even top NITs.

As per the information I provided from him, the placement scenario at IIIT Bangalore initially was very poor mainly because the first batch of iMtech students neither had prior interview exposure nor any work experience. The situation improved for the better and almost 90% of the first batch got internship offers from top-notch companies. In fact, many students have already been offered PPOs during placements.

The course structure is extremely flexible allowing you to take up any course of your choice.
The students of Embedded Systems are assisted by their senior batch, from team Q-Alpha, regarding all aspects.

Cons

The branch is new and not well-established.
Embedded Systems lack some of the courses like RTOS and Linux drivers courses.

PESU offers good placements for B.Tech CS. But because of a very large batch size, its average package comes down. The top 100 B.Tech CS students of PESU easily grab a package of 10 LPA+.

But IIITB is a better choice. It offers better faculty, peer group, placements, etc. Though PESU has a large campus, a lot of it is under construction.

I would recommend you choose iMtech at IIIT Bangalore, especially if you are not planning for a Masters’ abroad.
