Remarks
To get electronics in IIT BHU, you have to have atleast 2800-2900 AIR in JEE ADV., then from JOSAA portal, place it according to your preferences, and if you ars eligible for this given your rank, you can enroll into this course. IITBHU is one of the best institutions in India, being an IIT, and also a very old relic of india. Reservation is also really helpful, people with 20000+ AIR can get into this course if they belong to SC/ST. Admissions start a week after JOSAA ends and every single detail is made available through mail or whatsapp groups. Fees are almost 40000 on joining, 15000 for hostel nearly 20000 for education. Its really hectic for hostel registration given the large number of students.
Course Curriculum Overview
Electronics include semiconductors which are on the rise nowadays and are changing the world as we know it, this was the main reason for me. Faculties are 50+ and students are 600+ but since each batch includes about 140 students, its not a bad ratio per batch and that's not including the TAs. Faculties are really good, in terms of achievements and teaching, one of our mam got AIR 1 in gate 2015. Term exams are timed really well, basically just before extreme summers and winters. But they are not notoriously tough for just passing, since there is a lot of competition, it is still hard to beat all the others in score though.
Internships Opportunities
Companies include various Quant companies, Microsoft, Nvidia, Qualcomm, Mediatek, and others, there are various software developers roles offered. About 4.5lacs per month was the highest intern in our college and avg is about 80k to 1lac.
Placement Experience
From 6th sem, you can apply for jobs in various companies but on campus the companies come after the endsems of the 7th sem, around november end each year. Companies include but not limited to Microsoft, Qualcomm, Amd, Intel etc. Highest package was 1.68cr and average is around 25 lacs 95% get their placements by the end. Get placed in google.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees are really flexible in terms of reservation, whether because of annual family income or reservation. One can get 66.6% fees waived if their family income is less than 5 lacs, so it amounts to about 15000rs for mess and about 40000rs. per sem. There are scholarships for nearly every person on the campus, no matter where they are from, they number around 30+
Campus Life
IIT BHU is one of the best campus for student life in the whole world. We have fests for every month, though there are 3 major ones, aside from branch fests like EES, those include Spardha held in October, mainly focused on sports, secondly Kashi Yatra held in jan/feb, which is our culteral fest, and also the biggest in the nation, both of them, thirdly, there is Technex held in march, which is our techfest, second largest in asia. Libraries have almost every course book alongside really interesting others. Classrooms include sound proof walls and fans and also students(wow). There are 3 major grounds in our campus which happens to let us play 31 different sports. There are numerous clubs for people with every personality.
Hostel Facilities
These are 2 people rooms but we have to somehow accomodate 3 of us, because there are 3 beds, which can get congested, but you get used to it as things progress. There are 2 almirahs, which are sufficiently spacious for all of us to be frank. And there are 2 table-chair for every room. There is also wifi every 3 rooms or so for connectivity. There are 2 lan ports per room and also 2 tubelights/led and 1 fan. Hostel mess is the best in any IIT to be perfectly honest, there is a wide variety, including but not limited to puri, kachori, chhole bhature, aloo paratha. Registration is really easy, just bring all the docs mailed to you, then give it to them and go for biometric and you are done. But its really hectic because of the large number of students. There are 4 blocks with 3 gardens and 1 badminton court. Its really cozy after sometime.
