Likes

A lot of opportunities for students who work hard.
Hosts a lot of events and fest inviting some famous people.
Good study and work culture and monthly tests to ensure overall performance.

Dislikes

A lot of emphasis of hostellers and having separate events and fests for them.
Some activities like gym and swimming only accessible for hostellers.
Vert Attendance centric and DL's and ML's not included while giving marks.

Course Curriculum Overview

I have a great interest in coding and desiging websites and apps, so that's why i chose Computer Science Engineering. The faculty are all great except some general exceptions ofcourse. Overall pretty good. The Exams are usually monthly and the level is quite begineer friendly. If the basics are clear you can easily ace the exams.

Class Size: 80Course Fees: INR 200000 per year

Internships Opportunities

There are a lot of internship opportunities in my college but as per now being only a first year student, unfortunately i haven't been a part of any internships. But in the future i surely will have a chance to be an intern and will update as follows.

Placement Experience

Avg. Package offered this year was 8 Lakh Per Annum. Highest Package Offered was 35 Lakh Per Annum. After getting the degree i would try to land a job in my dream company and hopefully at a good location too.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure is decent. I have not hailed any scholarship or financial assistance neither any campus jobs. The fees is well used (hopefully) as they also provide with online courses via codingninjas, coursera and nptel.

Campus Life

Being a DaySchlolar, I don't have much campus life (or a life in general). Some fests and events they organise are also only for hostellers. Even access to gym and swimming pool is for hostellers only. There are lots of clubs run by the students, GFG, GDSC, etc.

Admission

The admission process was very smooth. There was no entrance examination necessary for the admission. The admission was based on either of the two criteria and candidates could select either one. One was JEE Mains Percentile and the second was 12th Boards Examination Percentage. All the information regarding application could be easily accessed on the official college website.

Solid Campus, Supportive Faculty and Predictable Academics

Placement Experience:

Students start becoming eligible for campus placements from the sixth semester, and that’s when most training sessions for aptitude, coding and soft skills also begin. The placement cell is active throughout the year and brings in a mix of product-based, service-based and mid-tier tech companies. The number of offers varies every year, but CSE-related branches usually get the highest share of opportunities. Companies come for roles like software trainee, analyst, QA, support engineering and web development, so there’s a good spread of entry-level roles.

Life at CGC Landran

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

In Chitkara university a good number of companies visited like Microsoft, google and they provide 100+ offerletters. 85-90 % students get placed in Chitkara university. After getting degree I firstly join to the company .

How can Lovely Professional University change your way of life.

Placement Experience:

There is an option for students to opt for placements from campus in our university and if we seect that option we are given special training by the university it self in fields which we think we are weak.That include technical and non technical fields like soft skills. University also ties up with other triaining companis to train us in better way by calling tutors from outside the campus for teaching us. Over all if we consider we are already well trained by university to sit for on campus placements and we usually get a good paying job which also helps us to gain more knowledge and improve ourself.

A GLANCE TO MY COLLEGE

i chose this college over other colleges becuase of its reputation , in recent years Chitkara has made its name whether we talk about placements or any other various field, it has a brand value as a private college its a quite good college,this is slightly a new college that is why boards were the criteria to get admission and other colleges i applied to took admission o the basis of JEE mains and i had not scored that good in it that is why did'nt able to clear the cutoff for my required branch, i applied t o Thapar Institute Of Technology, Patiala , Chandigarh University,Punjab, Amity University, Punjab Chandigarh College of Architecture.. i got confirmation from everywhere but just in Thapar i did not get Computer Science, The elegibility criteria in Chitkara is min aggregrate of 60% in jee mains and 70% in boards then there are several cutoffs on which the branches are given to students...Read More

I choose this college because it have a good placement ratio and packages. Here placements cell heads are helpful and teaches us about how to grab good placement. No, i didn't get a rejection from other colleges but i choose this because transportation is easy in this as compared to other colleges.
