Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I chose this course because I wanted to secure a lucrative job after completing it. The college has a strong faculty, with the majority of members being highly proficient in their teaching abilities. However, there are a few who are not as effective in their teaching methods. The faculty members are well-qualified and their teaching methods are generally effective. In terms of assessments, we have both mid-semester and end-semester exams. In my opinion, it is important to perform well in the mid-semester exam as scoring high marks in the end-semester exam can be quite challenging.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

I am a forst year student i am not so deeply aware about the internships and project but The CCD gives due importance to the internship activities, which provides students an opportunity for career exploration and development & to learn new skills. CCD invites various leading firms and reputed research organisations for the internship drive. The Internship drive for the pre-final year B.Tech students usually commences in the month of August every year.

Placement Experience

4.5

From the 3rd year students may get placements from varous companies .NIT Calicut Placements 2023 has recorded more than 1000 placements. NIT Calicut highest package stood at INR 47 LPA whereas NIT Calicut average package stood at INR 14.29 LPA. The average package stood at INR 22.03 LPA for the Computer Science Engineer & INR 19.29 LPA for the Electronics & Communication Engineering. The summer placement drive for the 2022 graduating batch was conducted recently, with 186 internships offered to the students. NIT Calicut is one of the best engineering colleges in India. The placements percentage in cse department in 100percent which is really good and the avarage is 22 lpa

Fees and Financial Aid

The college offers a flexible fee structure based on the annual income of the student's family. If the annual income is below 1 lakh, the education is completely free. For those with an annual income between 1 and 3 lakhs, the fee is 30 percent of the total. This is a great advantage for families facing economic challenges. Additionally, the college provides opportunities for scholarships and student loans. I personally have obtained a student loan from Union Bank. The process of obtaining the loan was very efficient, and I was able to secure it on my admission day itself.

Campus Life

3

The college boasts one of the most vibrant college lives among all the NITs. The two main fests in the college are "Thathva," the tech fest, and "Ragam," the cultural fest, which is known as the biggest cultural fest in South India. However, recently, there have been some issues between the students and the management. The college also has a variety of clubs such as the Math Club, Music Club, and more, providing students with ample opportunities to pursue their interests. Additionally, there are home teams for activities like mime, spoof, street play, and drama, allowing students to showcase their talents. The campus is spacious, providing students with a wide platform to exhibit their skills and creativity. But the management doesnt suport these things enough which is a major con.also the funding for clubs and home teams are poor

Hostel Facilities

1.5

The hostel infrastructure is not up to the mark, with cramped rooms that are shared by four students. The lack of adequate space for personal belongings and insufficient toilet facilities are major concerns. Additionally, the bathrooms are poorly maintained and unhygienic. Furthermore, the strict rules enforced by the hostel wardens, such as the prohibition on playing music through speakers, are quite restrictive. These issues significantly impact the quality of life for students living in the hostel.

Admission

To get into the NIT calicut you have to clear the jee mains entrance examination. With ranks according to your category of reservation i had i had ews reservation so i had to score 98.6 percentile to det computer science.you can apply for jee mains in the nta site.

The placement here is top notch. This year in my campus the highest CTC offered was 56.5lpa by PALOALTO. Placements process is centralised at coimbatore though. Students are eligible for campus placements from third year or s5. Average package in computing department ranges from 10-12lpa. My plans after degree is to pursue MS: opportunities of which are provided by the college itself. In computing department almost 90% of the students have been placed according to the seniors I talked to. However it is lower in other streams.

Civil engineering is a course with least placement in every engineering colleges. Students are placed during their fourth year in college. Sobha Constructions Ltd is one of the main companies that visits college. 200000rupees package is the average package offered. Les than 25 percent civil engineers get placed. I plan to prepare for GATE exam and pursue more in this course.
