The BTech course curriculum at VIT Vellore is designed to be comprehensive, blending theoretical knowledge with practical applications. The program typically covers core subjects in engineering such as Maths, Physics, Chemistry, and specialized courses based on the chosen branch of engineering. I was drawn to this course due to its balanced mix of fundamental concepts and hands-on learning opportunities that align with my career aspirations. Term exams were conducted on schedule and were appropriately challenging, serving as a means to gauge understanding and knowledge retention. The difficulty level was reasonable yet depending on motivating students to consistently engage with the coursework. Passing these exams required diligence and a solid grasp of the material, encouraging students to stay focused and committed to their studies.

Internship opportunities at VIT Vellore span diverse sectors like IT, finance, and engineering. Companies like Microsoft, Deloitte and Bosch offer roles in software development,consultancy, and research ,providing hands-on projects leading to innovative solutions enhancing skills and often accompanied by competitive stipends

Placement Experience

Students at VIT Vellore become eligible for campus placements from the 7th semester onwards. Top companies like Microsoft, Amazon, Google, and TCS visit the campus offering a wide array of profiles. The highest package offered varies annually often exceeding 40-45 lakhs per annum, with the average package hovering around 7-8 Lakhs per annum across various disciplines. Typically a high percentage of students secure placements with rates often exceeding 90-95%. After obtaining my degree,I plan to explore opportunities in the field of specific career interest, leveraging the skills and knowledge gained during my time at VIT Vellore.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure for BTech at VIT Vellore includes tuition fees, hostel charges, and other miscellaneous expenses. There might be a yearly increase in fees, but the institution typically maintains transparency regarding fee hikes. The total cost to study varies based on the chosen stream and any additional amenities availed. Financial assistance through scholarships like the VIT-IGNITE, GV School Development Programme, and the GV MertitScholorship supports deserving students.Additionally on campus job opportunities in research or as teaching assistants often come with stipends aiding students in managing their expenses.

The annual cultural fest, Riviera, typically takes place in February while the tech fest Gravities is usually held in September adding excitement throughout the year. The library boasts a vast collection of books and journals catering to diverse academic needs. Classrooms are well equipped with modern amenities including audio-visual aids facilitating interactive learning experiences. Sports facilities and extracurricular activities abound ranging from athletics to clubs for music,dance, coding, and more encouraging holistic development. Several student-run groups and clubs like Entrepreneurship Development Cell and Literary Society provide platforms for skill development and networking Students also Frequently use platforms like VIT Students Council websites to access resources engage with the community and stay updates on campus events.

Admission

Admission to VIT Vellore for BTech typically involves the VITEEE(VIT Engineering Entrance Examination), the university's entrance test. The eligibility criteria for BTech courses usually include a minimum aggregate of 60% in Physics, Chemistry, and Maths/Biology in the 10+2 exams or equivalent. The application process for VITEEE involves: 1. Application Form: the application form for VITEEE is available online on the official VIT website during the admission period. The form includes personal details, educational history,test center preference and other required information. 2. Application Fees: There is usually an application fee to be paid to complete the submission/ The payment can be made online through various modes available on the application portal. 3. Application Dates: The application dates are typically announced well in advance and can vary from year to year. Overall, VIT Vellore maintains a robust admission process in terms of accessibility and ease of application.
