Reviews of BSc in Computer Science Honors Department at Moirang College, Manipur University.

Since childhood, I have had a deep interest in computer-related stuff, prompting my decision to pursue the course. The facilities available were extensive: A smart classroom equipped with a Large touchscreen interactive monitor, two projectors, A normal classroom with a whiteboard, benches, and desks, and a computer lab room that has 40+ computer systems, however due to little demand in the course. There were only a few students who continued the course after 4th semester. The teaching staff was amiable, and their expertise in the computer was exceptional. Semester exams occurred every 6th month, and it was not difficult to pass.

In recent times, there has been a hike in the fee structure, I don't know the latest fee structure but in my time there were no changes in the fee structure. The Admission costs only 4500, and the semester form fillup costs Rs.1500 for the science and Rs.1200 for the Arts. Scholarships for reservation students are available in NSP, and if you belong to a financially poor family then with income proof they give some discount on admission, if you get permission from the principal then 100% admission fees are also provided only for the selected students. Job on campus or placement was not available.

Every six months there was a semester test. June and December are the common months for the exams. The availability of books especially for computer science was challenging because the library only has old books. Amenities in classrooms were top-notch. The college conducts extracurricular activities on a large scale. Like every students and people would come to the college for fresher meets and sports. In my time, there was no club available. I heard these days they introduce club related activities for the students.

I enrolled in the Bachelor of Science in Computer Science honors 2017. There was no competition, meaning very little demand for the course. so the admission process was straightforward, requiring only a 12th maths qualification. I was a part of the 2017 batch, things were quite different there. The application form can be found in the Admin block, and the fees were quite reasonably priced. For Admission, I paid Rs.5500 with the late fine. For Reservation students like SC, ST, and OBC. they were given a Rs.1500 discount on admission. The admission process was very simple leaving little room for improvement in my opinion. Still, I would suggest to introduce an online admission system for the students who are living far away from the college.
