Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum for B.A. Philosophy Hons is quite interesting and well designed to inculcate in students what is required from them when they go for masters in the same field. I chose the course because I was always fascinated by the questions of life and death and Philosophy answers that. Overall the faculty is par excellence in their field and they are best at what they do. The faculty: student ratio is quite impress there is 1 faculty for 40 students and they are available any time if you have any doubt. All faculty hold a PhD in their respective field. The term exams occur at an interval of 6 months and it is quite difficult to pass them to be honest of you're not prepared or haven't studied
Internships Opportunities
There are not much internship opportunities available for the ARTS students at BHU to be honest. If you can Crack an internship all by your one then it's very good or else you don't get any a campus..
Placement Experience
The students become eligible for placement from 5th sem although there are not packages available for arts students unless you're doing your graduation in any Language subject such as German,French etc. Usually the Foreign embassies hire students from Arts and there are other few companies that come for economics students. Highest packages was 12lacs for German honours hired by Amazon. I will sit for combined defence services exam after my graduation or will switch to economics.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees for entire year is 2240? only which is very much affordable by any section of the society. Apart from this many scholarships are also available for the needy students. There are scholarship provided by the Uttar Pradesh government which completely covers your entire fees for the year.
Campus Life
Campus life is best at BHU. There are many clubs which arranges different fests throughout the year especially the entire winter season is like a Christmas holiday for 4 months. The central library of BHU is one of the best library in India.it is inspired by the design of Oxford. Infact it was awarded best library of India last year in which more then 100 libraries participated. Sports facility is also quite good. It is always maintained by Sports authority of India so you can have the idea of its quality. There are many clubs run by students for students such as BHUpedia a online club which provided pyqs, another one is Sundrop Foundation.
Admission
If you're interested in applying to Bananas Hindu University for your undergraduate then you have to appear for Central University Entrance Test, a national level Entrance test for admission into general degree courses in various Central universities across India including BHU, JNU and DU. Usually the application comes out in the month of April and exam takes place in the month of June. The fees for the application various from college to college. For Banaras Hindu University it is 700?. The reservation policy is available as per Goverment of India's notification although I belong to General category so it wasn't alavaible for me. After CUET you have to fill a separate for applying into different courses in BHU at bhuonline.co.in the application fees for my course was 1250. After shortlisting, according to students choice of subject and marks a mail is sent to them to deposit an entire fees(which is 2240 for Arts students for entire year)within next 24 hours.
