Course Curriculum Overview
The department has well qualified faculty but average teaching level.I choose chemical engineering that deals the process of converting raw materials or chemicals into more useful or valuable forms.and iam also interested in chemistry. The exam level is difficult to pass
Internships Opportunities
The summer internship programme will be generally offered for a period of 45 days during the summer vacation.limited candidates may be permitted to do projects using the specific laboratory facilities in certain departments.
Placement Experience
Nitc students secured placements in companies like Reliance, Deloitte, Microsoft.and also core companies like BPC,murugappa visit Nit calicut.around 50% students from chemical usually get placed during campus placements.The highest package of chemical engineering 25-30 LPA. The average salary package offered is around 9.5-12 LPA.
Fees and Financial Aid
The nit fee structure for BTech program includes tution fees, one-time admission fees, hostel fees, mess charges and other application charges. Students are required to pay the fees at beginning of each semester as per the nit fee structure.NSP scholarship is available.
Campus Life
Nitc conducts two main fests each year, mainly the cultural fest 'Ragam' and the techno-management fest 'Tathva'. The student clubs of the campus help students to showcase their hidden talent The inter-universities and inter-NIT's sports tournament.
Hostel Facilities
All the hostels have common room and Recreational centre where newspapers, magazines,TV's and indoor sports/games facilities are available.Guest room facilities are available in each hostel for guest.The quality of meal is average.Registration process for hostel is pretty good through online app. But hostel fee is very high.
Admission
Admission process of NITs is done through JEE Main counselling conducted by joint seat Allocation Authority (josaa). Candidates must have attained a minimum of 75%(65%for SC/ST candidates) of their respective boards. Good for providing reservations in legislatives for backward classes like SC/ST. Admission process is "pretty good" but increase time for payment process.
