Remarks

Alumni network of the college is not that strong so far, however it seems most of the Alumni's are very well placed in their life and should have one date fixed for the get together. the Network must be nurtured.

Entrance Preview

College conducted Theory and GDPI, it was pretty tough during this time. First one had to qualify the written exam in the framework of CAT, then a panel of 4 Faculty used to be there in the GDPI to choose students.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Great course curriculum because majorly in our time the Guests Faculties were from the industry only, therefore our questions could be only managed by practitioners. There was a distinct difference between full-time faculties and Guest faculties. Guests faculties were domain experts.

Internships Opportunities

Not applicable for us, because we were all working executives and non-freshers. We all have done projects at our office only relevant to our fields and interests, that's why the output was more relevant compared to the recent times.

Placement Experience

4.5

For MBS's and others job opportunities were more during that time, however, MBA is a course which cannot be understood unless one doesn't have practical exposure to the Industry. Later years MBA courses became the factories to produce non-competent freshers who didn't find jobs after their bachelor's degree and started treating MBA as their gate pass to get a job.

College Events

4

There were several Annual Functions used to get organized during that time including placements. However, majorly the seminars and workshops were pretty interesting but for us, the timing was the issue to attend them on a regular basis. I still remembered a seminar happened on Artificial Intelligence way back those years and its implications, where Microsoft came and presented about the future.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It was only Rs30000/- per year, but compared to that time and economy it was not cheap, however, we were all working, therefore, it was not that hard to pay. Sometimes college used to entertain part payment for individuals who were needy and brilliant. This costs entails all the tuition fee. Library was great for us to lend the books and get it xerox instead of buying a new.

Fees and Financial Aid

Majorly the scholarship is given for MBA students at daytime who comes via CAT exam, however being the prestigious MBA college and the first Management college of India, I felt there is an absence of several scholarships or loan facilities within the college, but people can get a loan from the banks nowadays.

Campus Life

4

The campus is just a building, however, the canteen and the terrace the most favorite place for the students to chill out. Offcourse outside of the institute the old and ancient college street is a great place for the bookworms and foodies. Coffe house is one of the best attraction including the prestigious Presidency College, Hare School, Sanskrit Collegiate School and Hindu School. The college square lake is the best place to hang around during summer evenings.

Hostel Facilities

4

We never used a hostel, however, we've heard people used to stay at Hindu hostel and it's under the Calcutta University. I had never been there, so don't know the status. IISWBM mainly the students come from Kolkata and surroundings, therefore I've ever seen the requirements of hostel too.

Alumni/Alumna

There are several batch wise groups in Facebook and Linked In. I'm also part of several groups. These groups are mainly active for keeping relations with Alumni's for Job related issues and suggestions for the current students.

Exam Structure

Exams used to happen very strictly during this time and unless someone studies thoroughly the books, it was difficult to pass. That time there was no concept of note study. Guests Faculties used to name the subject topic and Books to be followed for the exam. Therefore, no shortcut to pass the exams.

Admission

College conducted Theory and GDPI, it was pretty tough during this time. First one had to qualify the written exam in the framework of CAT, then a panel of 4 Faculty used to be there in the GDPI to choose students. It was mandatory in our time to have min 3 years of work experience because this course was for the working executives only.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose the course only because of our HOD, but after completing my course, he left the course. He has helped us with all the things like web development and seo skills. By doing it practically for every student, he offers a domain for every student. I had difficulty with Google Ads & meta ads because it was taught by another faculty. The exam times were different by 3 months.

Placement Experience:

Till now I am seeing in my own eyes that in previous year, there is a 270 student in marketing and now right now the 15 student left to place and rest of the team are already placed to a many companies like ENYF Flipkart in Bandan Bank ICICI bank in a mini sector in FMCG also and FMCT also, but and retail, but I told that the ratio of placement is too higher than other college and also giving the good package is. The main thing with the job rule should be maintain the package.

They even dont have proper faculties to teach students. I majored in Business Analytics, but back to then in 2019 there was not even one teacher who have subject knowledge.

The good things I like is that the teachers teach through the slides prepared by himself and also told student to prepare PowerPoint presentation and deliver in the class and also give different case study to solve the problem. Only missing thing is that the student are getting less practical knowledge as compare to theory paper.

The good thing about this college are the activities that take place every Saturday, which is quite interesting and knowledgeable. The bad thing about the college is that the departments are divided on the basis of their courses so the students do not gather as a whole bunch of college.
