Course Curriculum Overview

The course of mechanical engineering is tidious although faculty are very professional and friendly roughly student faculty ratio is 1:30 . Almost all faculties are PhD holders from top colleges of India like IITs hence their teaching methodology is also very sort after.

Class Size: 120Course Fees: INR 346000 per year

Internships Opportunities

There is a good amount of intership opportunities available from it sector to finance to banking . For e.g. axis Bank came for internships giving 30k as stipend to 5th semester students. If you do well during internship there are high chances of getting pre placement offers.

Placement Experience

7th semester students are eligible for placement almost all top companies including Microsoft,Amazon, Flipkart,Atlassian come for placement making lucrative offers. Highest package 58 lakhs average package 13 lakhs. 80 % students placed. My plan is to do job and then do an MBA.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee is quite high according to me despite being a Government funded technical institution it's fee touches 15 lakhs . But their are scholarships available for low students having financial issues.

Campus Life

Annual fest is bitootsaav conducted in February and tech fest is pantheon conducted in October . College life is comparable to NIT and IIT , infrastructure is also comparable to NIT and IIT. College has a very big central Library having a plethora of books and journals. Classrooms are well equipped with audio and visual systems. There is a state of the art sports complex there are a number of groups from dance drama to robotics and coding including social services groups like national service scheme and national cadet corps.there is a dedicated website of our college www.bitmesra.ac.in

Hostel Facilities

Rooms are basic having a cupboard,fan,lights and electricity board. Food quality as I feel is above average menu is decided by students registeration process is simple and can be done using college website only .

Hostel Fee: INR 20000 per year

Admission

Jee mains exam 2022 eligibility was 12th completed with physics chemistry and mathematics. Application form on jee mains website then sat for jossa and csab.jee mains application fee is nominal rs.650.

Overall Review of NIT Jamshedpur

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum exam ready for students of mechanical engineering it focuses on industrial level exposure and for other competitive exams like gate and IES with good faculty who teaches almost all concepts. There are labs for each subject in which we get real world application knowledge. Also course is updated regularly as per the requirement of industry . The course can we improved by making course more practical rather than a writing all things on practical it should include project for students. Frequency of exam is that in every 15 days there is a exam with moderate to difficult level.

Placement Experience:

7th Semester students become eligible for placements. The highest package is offered by Rubrik in 2025 of 1.41 CR(domestic) High paying jobs are mostly for SWE/SDE roles. Percentage of students getting placed in CSE/AIML is 75, ECE 69, EEE 60, Mech 58. My plans after gettting degree is to get into job sector only for a while. No such higher education plans as such.

Placement Experience:

At BIT Mesra third is like full of practice for placements and final year more of placements activities than studies. So, when all these things are in order placements obviously will be more or less certain and here they are certain only with almost 90% students are places through campus with annual placements of 8-10 lakhs per annum.

According to my perspective or point of view students initiate preparing for placement cells in 3rd year ( 5th semester). The highest package of our college is 14 LPA And average package is 3.4 LPA. Approx 72 %students got placed in different different companies like tcs, wipro, accenture etc.

A Genuine Review

Placement Experience:

From 5th Semester onwards student are eligible for internship but from 7th semester they are allowed to sit in campus. Various companies like PayPal, Wipro , cognizant ,TCS ,Genpact ,Amdocs etc. Highest Package this year is 35 lpa and Average Package is around 7.5 lpa. Around 90% of students from circuital branch and around 80% students from non-circuital branch has been placed so far this year. My plan is prepare very smartly for campus placements and bag a very good PPO from are tech based company.

At BIT Mesra for our departments many cpre companies like Tatva Chintan, Laxmi Organics and Kanoria Chemicals were among some listed companies that came for placements. Luckily we are less in numbers and therefore 90% students from our batch were placed from here. My plans after getting the degree is to pursue masters from US.

I had NIT Raipur Chemical Engg, rejected it because I didn't like the campus amenities of the same, zero sports facilities, they play Football on a Red Soil literally. I got this in CSAB and hence it was a better ranked college than NITRR, i've heard of people opting a lower preferred branch in BITM over a branch in NITRR such the brand value of the college. I scored pretty avg in JEE 58k rank so wasn't eligible for all the clgs anyhow. Admission process is pretty simple JOSSA and CSAB. Admission experience is obviously good because why would a clg not welcome a laxmi lol jk....Read More

Actually This college was in my list but as a last option as i was getting RVCE and BMS few reputed colleges of bangalore but my parents insisted for this college as this college carries a good brand name of BIT,Mesra. Yes, Due to my not so good performance in JEE Mains I did not get the college i was hoping for. A student should first appear in JEE Mains and score a good percentile to get in to this college.
