Remarks

College is not better for efficent students. It should be last option if JEE/NEET is not qualified by a student

Entrance Preview

Admission in GCET JAMMU is given by JKBOPEE by conducting JKCET. I have qualified JKCET and the choose it because it is funded by state government

Course Curriculum Overview

1.5

To be honest this college is not satisfying the needs of students. It has fewer facilities and also it offers only few bachelor's courses as in CSE, CE, ME, EE, E&C. It has not proper transport system as it is 20km away from the city Placement is not good. It offers an average package of 3L per year with a number of students placed is very low and the percentage of placement is nearly 5-7%

Internships Opportunities

College provides internships . Each year summer internships are conducted by the in association with government and non government companies. But the percentage of students taking part in it is very low

Placement Experience

2

Placement is not good . It offers an average pacakage of 3L per year with number of students placed is very low and the percentage of placement is mearly 5-7%. College also provides internships . Each year summer internships are conducted by the in association with government and non government companies. But the percentage of students taking part in it is very low

College Events

2.5

Events are not celebrated frequently but annual day and NLIETTE is celebrated each year in which students of GCET Jammu and other students of the country are taking part. Those events are sponsored by college administration, state government and other companies like BSNL, ARPO, SAMSUNG, DAMN OS CONSTRUCTIONS etc.

Fees and Financial Aid

MOMA scholarship is available for minority students. And also scholarships for SC / ST are available

Campus Life

1.5

Respect is given to all religions. The campus is RURAL so not too much fun. Here students of all regions of JAMMU AND KASHMIR like Kashmir, Ladakh, Jammu, kathua, Poonch, Rajouri, Baderwa all are studying friendly. Student organization ABVP unit GCET-JAMMU was founded in 2017

Hostel Facilities

2

The hostel is fully booked as it has low intake capacity. Food qualified is not too good. Only vegetarian food is served and also eggs are served. Er, Neeraj Dubey is the Hoster warden. The hostel is located within the campus of GCET JAMMU.F ee per year is Rs.35000 which includes boarding and mess charges

Alumni/Alumna

College seniors are helpful and they are guiding juniors in every respect. Ragging cases inside and outside the campus of GCET JAMMU is negligible.

Exam Structure

Exams are conducted thrice in a semester: 2 minor and 1 major. Minor exams / sessional tests are conducted by HOD s of concerned departments and a Major exam is conducted by JAMMU UNIVERSITY as GCET is affiliated to Jammu University, which is the oldest university in Jammu region.

Admission

Qualifing JKCET with good percentage. Admission in GCET JAMMU is given by JKBOPEE by conducting JKCET. I have qualified JKCET and the choose it because it is funded by state government . It has fewer facilities and also it offers only few bachelor's courses as in CSE , CE, ME, EE, E&C. It has not proper transport system as it is 20km away from the city

Faculty

2

Permanent Faculty is well qualified efficient and experienced but they lack responsibility. Their qualifications consist of B.E/B.TECH + M.E/ M.TECH+ PhD The contractual faculty which is the major portion of the teaching staff is not well experienced.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Good things is that they offer minor courses for us where we can choose extra courses which we may find interesting and yaa not only that interdepartment projects can also be chosen which is very strange but don't seems relevant.curriculum earlier they were following of iit Delhi and new curriculum is not very exact and relevant because sometimes there are some unnecessary courses and no point of learning that course which forcefully imposed on us to take this course as it comes under institute department courses and are mandatory which is not so good

Placement Experience:

I think the students become eligible for placements after 6 th semester, if you are from CS / IT then you'll get enough opportunities for yourself... I know 8-9 seniors who have grabbed a pretty decent package from companies like Oracle If somehow you fail to get recruited on campus then i guess the off campus option is open for all I am pretty satisfied with the placement record atleast for IT The percentage placement for this year CSE was 51 considering recession part this seems good to me
