Review of GCET Jammu

I am from mechanical branch because I like it since I was a child and my parents also supported my decision. The labs and workshops here are also nice for learning and gaining experience. The exams are like once every month.

Academic fees is almost 50000 per year with hostel fees of 40000. No benefits for different categories. Students can avail scholarship based on their family earning. The scholarship amount is enough for a student to pay their academic fees

Campus is very beautiful with greenary all over the place, peacefull surrounding and a good environment. I like to walk in evening and enjoy the nature here. There are many stationaries and fast foods shops outside the campus where people can rest and eat.

Hostel rooms are quite normal but bathroom condition is very poor with no maintenance and no water heaters in winters. Mess food is good with variety on of things in a day and it includes every snacks too

I also applied for MIET but since that college don't have hostel facility so I couldn't join it. And since this college is a government college, had hostel facility and it's very easy entrance exam, this was the best option for me

Some faculties are quite nice and help students in need but some of them are rude and self centred and do favoratism among students(one of them is Chemistry's HOD) but most of them are good and well experienced teachers

As I am hostel member, nightlife here is quite thrilling as most of the area near hostel is full of long grasses. College usually closes on 5 PM but for hostellers, they can walk in campus till the hostel gate closes on 9 PM
