What Students Say
Likes
- Campus Life: The campus is huge and has a lot of hotspots where you can chill with your friends,
- Peer Groups: I got to know some great hardworking people at DTU, who helped me build a huge network of like minded individuals.
- Placements: Almost all of the major companies visit DTU, therefore the placement opportunities are nice
Dislikes
- The college is too crowded, and there are a lot of ineligibly aimless students.
- Maintenance of workshops, the workshops are not maintained and even the safety gloves are torn
- Faculty is well educated, but the teaching quality is not that good.
Course Curriculum Overview
Personally i wanted to pursue BTech in Computer Science Engineering, because i've always had a knack for coding. But according to my JEE Mains rank, i was getting mechanical in DTU, so here i am. Faculty:Student ratio is around 1:75, which is favourable. Faculty is well qualified with masters/phd degrees from big colleges. Teaching methods can be improved a little. Classes could be more interactive. Term exams were timely, and were conducted at the pre-announced dates only, and passing the exams was moderately hard, but a child who studies well can easily pass those exams.
Internships Opportunities
All major companies give internship opportunities at DTU, and the process is very smooth. All types of roles like SDE intern, Consultant, Audit and other categories are offered. Even the core branches have good internship opportunities. Several rounds are conducted for the internship process, which include GDs and OAs.
Placement Experience
Students become eligible for campus placements from 4th year, ie 7th semester. A lot of companies visit DTU and offer huge amounts of packages. To name a few, Amazon, Microsoft, Wells Fargo and all other mjor companies visit our college, and a lot of offers are given, more than 500. Highest package of DTU ranges from 1.5cr to 1.8cr per annum. and average packages range from 25lpa in cs branch to around 9lpa in lower branches. Placement Percentage varies from branch to branch, in computer science based branches it is in the range of 97+%, while in lower branches, it falls to 45%. After getting my Bachelor of Technology Degree from DTU, i aspire to be a software engineer, if everything works fine, otherwise i'll pursue MBA.
Fees and Financial Aid
Cost to study for BTech is really high, which does put financial pressure on some students, but considering the world-class faculty, top quality labs and equipment, and the well maintained infrastructure, the fee is justified. I didnt get any scholarship or financial aid.
Campus Life
Campus life is the best at DTU. The annual cultural fest Engifest, and the Techfest, Invictus, are one of the most awaited and hyped fests in north india, and the campus looks amazing during such festive seasons. Freshers party and Diwali mela are also some major events that light up the mood of all the students. Library has only course-related books, which should be improved. Classrooms are fully ac and furniture is also good quality, Sports are very nice in the campus. There are more than 50 student run societies and tech teams at DTU, like IEEE, and Cultural Council, the societies indulge in building large student communities to foster mutual development. There are also some websites and apps, like Fresources and DTU Connect, that are run by students for students. They provide the required study materials and assignments.
Admission
Eligibility criteria was 60+ percentage in CBSE Class 12 boards, with Physics, Chemistry and Maths as mandatory subjects. Cutoff for my course was around AIR 52000 in JEE MAINS for Delhi Home State candidates. Application forms can be found using JAC website. Application fee was around 1500-3000. Ample amount of time was given for application. Didn't avail reservation benefits, except Delhi Home State, for which 85% seats are reserved. Admission process was really seamless, no improvements suggested.
Other Applied Colleges
Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology - [MAIT] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)
I preferred a government college over a private college thats why.

I preferred college over branch, so i opted for dtu mech rather than mait cse.
