Entrance Preview

I was opted for jee main, I wondered about the greed for education that is presented in the college faculty, Yaa interview was the first thing that I faced here while taking admission

Course Curriculum Overview

4

This college creates a multi-level program on every level, creativity based, talent based, curriculum here is hindi english and punjabi, students according to their own interest can demand their language, teachers never forces for a particular language, sometimes it's difficult for us to understand the language of Punjabis

Placement Experience

3.5

Every year lots of companies visit they select the students and offer packages according to the merit, recently mechanical engineering boys got placed in the Mahindra group of companies at 5lac/annum, placement cell becomes active in the college on the time of the placement

College Events

4

As my college is at punjab, Bathinda so major festival I saw here still is tarranum which was celebrated with the full joy, except this no any festival is celebrated yet. we together celebrated the saraswati puja last year, together with the holi and diwali, as well as sports meet and cultural meet organizes once a year

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is different for different regions, the candidates coming from the jammu and kashmir will have to pay less as compared to other, while the localites have a reservation category from the punjab got, scholarship is also available here for the meritorious and poor candidate

Fees and Financial Aid

The candidates who has been opted 70% marks can avail scholarship here, they have to just pay the half amount of money for the same fees whom any other candidate pays

Campus Life

5

Campus is spreaded into 125 acres of land with lots of tress making the campus green and healthy, gender ratios is 900 women to 1000 ???, it may be called good, but as we know gender ratio is as naturally bad for the mechanical engineer since every where the same condition is, no ragging and students dorm parties allowed here, vast workshop, many types of machines, one of the first government colleges in punjab whose workshop is considered unparalleled yet, people's across the world comes for the workshop, every religion is issht here whether of any caste, no matter of politics, centre for study and teacher is worshipped as God while classrooms are the temples

Alumni/Alumna

Seniors are like brothers, they have given responsibility to take care of their juniors and treat with love to the elders, we have been blessed by the seniors in the fair well party and the friendship is still maintaining between us

Exam Structure

Exam is categorized into basically two parts of the year, one at the first six months and hence the other, 1st 6 months exam is divided into two major parts that is know as the mid semester test, which is held at consecutive 3 months twice in a semester

Admission

I was selected here through the MRSPTU counseling on the basis of the jee exam, as I was also selected for the other exam but choice for government colleges are always my priority, Every year MRSPTU organizes concelling and candidates according to the number in jee main get placed in colleges

Faculty

3.5

A particular faculty in every particular area of the subject is the best faculty in the my life I had ever seen, supportive in nature, mature and experienced, hard working, creative and professional, we don't even feel that we are facing a teacher, they are just like friends and they had change the meaning of a teacher in the good and positive way

Placement Experience:

Students start becoming eligible for campus placements from the sixth semester, and that’s when most training sessions for aptitude, coding and soft skills also begin. The placement cell is active throughout the year and brings in a mix of product-based, service-based and mid-tier tech companies. The number of offers varies every year, but CSE-related branches usually get the highest share of opportunities. Companies come for roles like software trainee, analyst, QA, support engineering and web development, so there’s a good spread of entry-level roles.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

The placement of our college is good but its lack to bring big names but overall it's 3 out of 5 as it's basically focus on bringing software companies but our stream is of electronics so we donot have that much knowledge about coding so we lack to get placed this is the only disadvantage of the placement cell here

Placement Experience:

There is an option for students to opt for placements from campus in our university and if we seect that option we are given special training by the university it self in fields which we think we are weak. That include technical and non technical fields like soft skills. University also ties up with other triaining companis to train us in better way by calling tutors from outside the campus for teaching us. Over all if we consider we are already well trained by university to sit for on campus placements and we usually get a good paying job which also helps us to gain more knowledge and improve ourself.
