Life at DTU

Course curriculum is average although there were improvement after NEP-2020. The syllabus just like most Indian colleges is very theoretical. Faculty members are highly qualified. Most of them have PhD from prominent universities as well as some are pursuing higher education in DTU itself. Teaching methodology depends upon teachers. Some are really good, some are horrible. Exams are held twice every semester, one mid sem and one end sem ( full syllabus). Exams are moderately difficult for some subjects but for some are really hard. Also depends upon your preparation.

Lots of internship opportunities are provided by companies during placement drive and summer season. Mostly paid internship are there with multiple foreign offers. Also DTU itself hire many interns to work at college campus. Most people grab an internship and interns also get Pre placement offers from companies.

Placements are top 10 in India due to location as Gurugram, Noida are nearby and college itself is in Delhi. The avg. Package was about 1500000. All the big names including Amazon, Google, Microsoft, McKinsey, Oracle, HCL visited college last season.

Fee is about 10 lakh for 4 year degree which is high for govt. College but lower than most Private colleges. Many many Scholarships are available for students as DTU is tier-1 college. This includes DTU fee concession by University itself and Delhi Govt. Scholarships along with Dell scholarship, Reliance scholarship and many other private scholarships. Fee hike is about 5-10% every year. Cost of study is justified due to good placements. Since placements are superb, you have opportunity to apply and most probably get a job. Also University itself has lots of interns for day to day functioning and they're paid about 5K stipend.

Life at campus is chill if you got good peers as lots of fest happen at the campus. Also there are many colleges nearby so you can enjoy there as well. College's infrastructure is state of the art and one of the best in India. There's always construction going on for adding something new. Annual cultural fest is Engifest, one of the biggest in India and happens during February. Almost all the good books and journals are in library and have online access as well. Newly built classroom are also great,older ones are avg. Sports facilities are above average, all the courts and grounds are there. Most social groups and clubs are student run and participate in competitions across India.

The admission is based on JEE score followed by JAC counselling. If you're alloted a seat in any round, you have to report for physical verification of documents and then your admission is confirmed if everything is correct. Registration fee is 1500 and you've to submit 95000 as seat acceptance fee before reporting for counselling. Minimum marks of 75% is required in class 12 to be eligible for admission. Application form is released after results of JEE on JAC website. Reservations is there for all groups like OBC/SC/ST and for Defence, Kashmiri Migrant, People with disability.
