Entrance Preview

JEE Assam. I had always been inclined towards Engineering, in fact since my early childhood; breaking open things to see how they worked, making gadgets and generally making myself a nuisance in the eyes of others at home!

Internships Opportunities

I interned with RSEB because we had to look for companies ourselves for internship.

Placement Experience

My classmates are all extremely well placed and our juniors are also getting placed well, mostly from the campus. Goigle, IAF, Army, Navy, ONGC, IOC, OIL INDIA, ASEB etc are regular recruiters.

College Events

The biggest festival is the TECHFEST in which various cultural and techbical activities are held. The other is the Vishwakarma Puja.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The hostels are comfortable, the rooms spacious and the room furniture average. It is a completely residential campus with most students living in the campus. The foid is managed by mess committees consisting of elected student members and is wholesome and good.

I availed of the Engineering Merit Scholarship.

Campus Life

Campus life then and now: not much difference except tgat dresses have become more modern and bikes are a norm. Extremely cordial atmosphere prevails in the campus with no difference in the name of religion, ethnicity, language etc. There is complete absence of any political interference whatsoever as the campus houses most of the teachers too. The students are mostly busy with their studies.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni network is very strong with the old students helping the new ones in getting jobs. In fact my batch has started a scholarship for under privileged students of our college

Faculty

The faculty in my time was extremely dedicated and knowledgeable and I am happy to say the the faculty now is also the best you can hope for, having interacted with them in my silver jubilee meet.

NIT Silchar Review: Campus, Career and Career Prospects

Placement Experience:

NIT Silchar has decent placement stat. Approx 75 percent student got placement from campus and they got decent package. In NIT Silchar from 7th semester students are eligible for placement and company comes whole year for recruiting. Approx 100 company visit the college throughout the year. In tech Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Walmart and more companies come. For core L&T, Adani, Tata Steel and more companies come. For service base Infosys, TCS, Wipro will come and give good offer. Highest package will come from tech company and that is 52lpa and average from all companies will lie from 10 to 12 lpa . My plans is that in my 4th year atleast I will get one job. If I don't get job then I will try from off campus or giving paper for government job

Great college with decent infrastructure and a large campus

Placement Experience:

The placements here are actually decent. The average package for my branch was around 13.5 LPA last year and branches like CSE, EC and EI have a higher average package generally. The campus is visited by almost all of the top companies including Google, Adobe, Facebook, etc. The detailed placement records are available on the website of the institute.The percentage of students getting placed ranges anywhere between 70 percent to 92 percent. I plan to get an M.Tech degree after completing my B.Tech course from an IIT if possible.

Normally from third semester student become eligible campus placements but most usually take placements in fourth semester or fifth semester The percentage of getting placements are about 60% The highest package per company usually was ?80,000 per month and the average is around 20,000 Per month My plan is to get a job of a construction firm for about one year so that I can collect good amount of experience and they will hire me because I am passout from this college because this is one of the most reputed college after one year or two year, I will try for government exams or some private companies like Gautam farm, et cetera

The students who are appearing for the 7th semester end term examination are eligible for the campus placement drive , eligibility varies as per the companies eligibility criteria, main factors are CGPA score of the particular student. There are many companies who visited the campus for placement drive but the main companies who visited for campus placement drive are : NRL( Numoligorh Refinery Limited) ,ONGC( oil natural gas corporation) etc , the highest package offered was 24 lpa by NRL and the offer was got by 8 students and the average package of our college is 7lpa approx

Not good at all placements. Worst placement college that is ever been. They couldn't get companies coming to this college after such long times. The only companies which comes gives packeges as low as 200000 per annum. which is worst in these present times.
