Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum is good and quite similar to engineering. The teachers and faculty members are really helpful and they make quite a lot of effort to teach the respective subjects. The syllabus is good but not related to what the industry expects so one has to put extra effort from there end to learn new things.

Class Size: 12Course Fees: INR 200000 per year

Placement Experience

Placement are irregular and not so good. You have to do a master's. Only doing Graduation in this field will not help you. I would suggest opting for the NIMCEt or JECA(only for WB domicile students)exam for MCA or if you want pursue MSc. a from a good college.

Fees and Financial Aid

The course fee is around Rs 3700 per month including the hostel fees. A one-time fee at the start of the semester which is usually around 12k is charged along with an admission fee of 30k. Apart from this other minor fees like examination fees of rs 600 is to be given before the final exam of each semester. An ample amount of scholarships and financial aid is available to students through college.

Campus Life

To be honest the hostel is very much strict. The students are curbed by the hostel authorities (the maharajas) and hence they are deprived of doing extra activities to prepare for the outside industries. I would suggest opting for other colleges for computer Science if one wants to go to corporate jobs. This college is good only if you want to remain in the academic line and pursue research.

Admission

Admission is based on an entrance exam but during my time it was based on class 12 percentage due to COVID. Application fees are around Rs.500. Reservation for caste is available. After clearing the exam there is usually an interview/viva conducted by the teachers of the respective departments.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I think I'm a curious student. Integrating biology with technology is interesting Recently we are studying animal tissue culture plant tissue culture which is superb. Generating a plan from a single cell is truly something interesting. I was drawn to genetics and biotechnology application . This curriculum prepares a student for research and industrial purpose . We get to do lab experiments project work under professors. In my opinion improvement can be done by industrial visits Exams take place at the end of each semester and we have mid sems in between

SXC Kolkata is a gem of a college.

Placement Experience:

Computers are so vast that masters is mandatory and therefore I have certain plans for that. However big scale IT companies come here and students of Computer science Hons have had placements worth 6-10 lakhs easily. My plans are to appear for the job interviews but not taking any as I want to study more.

Placement Experience:

College does provide internship opportunities both through the placement cell as well as department faculty. Semester 5 and Semester 7 students are eligible for placements. Average package is about 5.5 lakh per annum for microbiology course. Although placement percentage is on the lower side majority of students go for higher studies. Many prepare for exams like GATE, IIT JAM, etc.

Placement Experience:

college placements are good in this college with a number of good financial and consultancy firms coming in with new gen companies as well in the service and sales industry. moreoever getting a good placement in a top financial or consultancy placement requires a POR in a good society as a criteria, its not really required but adds to your chances of getting it. moreover you require to participate in a number of case study competitions for the same as well. my plans after graduation is probably working for a year or two after which i plan on doing my MBA. around 50-60% who apply get a placement.

My experience at St. Xavier's

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course theory helps us gain a solid understanding of the subject matter. Film studies and Mass Communication theory classes has laid down the foundation of the subject- from what is a shot and the kinds of shots and angles, to the beginning of radio in India and essays by CS Pierce and John Berger. The course also includes practical classes in the sound labs, editing labs and we will learn to use a camera, as one of the things we will have to do in this course is make films of our own.

The college offers good placements for economis. Students in their final year are eligible for campus placements and there is a cell dedicated to placements. Many students do not opt for placements and go for higher studies but many students who opt for it, get placed with decent packages. Many well-known companies visit the campus as well. I choose this course as I like physics very much and I wish to make my career on research & general lines. In our batch, we are 21 students who come regularly, the faculties are 6, whereas 2 lab attendants. All faculties are MSc and 4 of them have PhDs. Yes, in our college it takes an internal exam & that's very tough.

Statistics Honours at Ramakrishna Mission Residential College(Autonomous)

There a certain criteria to get admission to this college. 1)You must have a certain cut-off mark in your board exam(HS). If you have then you are eligible for the entrance test. 2) After clearing the test you will be qualified for admission here. Within a few months(2 or 3) after the board exam, the online form filled up for the admission test starts on the college's website. You just have to visit a few times on the college website after the board exam for admission details and exam dates.
