What Students Say

Likes

The well defined library which helps students to read from a better environment.
The ambiance of the mechanical and civil workshops.
The playground and the large area provide better environment to play.

Dislikes

Improper infrastructure and tiling of the classroom.
Poor Wifi connection in College campus and labs.
Even if there are a lot of staffs working, we wont get proper Trainings for physical training.

Course Curriculum Overview

Since I opted for Computer Science and Engineering, the faculties and tutors were too good and cooperative. Each teacher uses different styles and helps the students to learn easily. The exams are medium range and it is easy to pass the exam.

Class Size: 65Course Fees: INR 41000 per year

Placement Experience

Campus placements are coming in each year and mainly for final years. They conduct aptitude tests and those students who pass The test will get placed. Many high-rated companies visit our College and conduct placement drives.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure for the merit seat is 41500, the management seat has 75000 as a fee and 1 lakh is for the NRI seat. Students earn scholarships in many fields like MCM, prakathi scholarships, etc. which can be paid as their academic fees also.

Campus Life

Campus life is good, our College provides a lot of programs to entertain students like cultural fest, tech fest, etc. Monthly they provide many webinars and workshops to attend. The library is good, a lot of books are available.

Admission

After completing my higher secondary education I attended the KEAM exam and got selected. I joined the College of Engineering Vadakara. According to the admission procedures and coordinating staff, the admission process went well.

OUR COLLEGE LIFE

Placement Experience:

we are eligible for placement from the 7th sem. Many famous and small compines vist our college. Infosys, WIPRO, TCS vist our college. But the big companies take only few student. Highest package was 1,00,000. And the average package is around 4,00,000. Almost all students gets placed from the campus .

My Experience at NIT Calicut

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the EEE course curriculum around 8-8.5 /10 in terms of relevance.The curriculum provides strong fundamentals in core electrical engineering subjects and prepares students well for core jobs and higher studies.The course curriculum was revised in 2023, and our batch is the 1st batch under the new curriculum. however, there are still limited coding ,AI and data science subjects in EEE ,which could be improved. Exams are conducted times per semester and are generally moderately difficult.

Main companies visiting the campus are IBM , TCS ,TATA ELXSI,L&T, Cognizant,Toshiba,Vanenburg,Kalkitech,Sobha,Mrf ,Juspay,Dynolt and many more. 70 % students get placement Highest package is 16 lpa and average is 5 lpa After degree higher studies can be considered.

Placement Experience:

The placements here are quite good, but not great. Because only 50% of students in a class are getting placed. From S7 onwards the placements have been started for our department. But for other departments, from S8 only companies have arrived. For CSE department, many companies are coming which include Cognizant, SOTI, Mitsogo, EY, 6D Technologies, etc. Our senior batch students have placed at many companies in this. But comparing with other senior batches, the placements at our batch is really bad.

the course curriculum is lakhs relevance to modern industry demands. while it covers the basics there is minimum focus on practical skills emerging technologies and real world applications overall, the courses not comprehensive enough.

Is engineering here worth it?
