Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I chose psychology major so that I could learn to understand the complexities of the human mind and behaviour. Faculties are either postgraduates or PhD holders with NET. Exams are easy to pass but they are not conducted timely. We have around 200 faculties and about 3000 students compared to the whole campus. Our department consists of 7 faculties and around 100 students. They give importance to all fields, academia, arts and sports. Teaching is done through physical classes and visual materials. Practice is also provided.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees are to be paid once a year which is around 2000, small variations occur for various departments. Exam registration fees are also to be paid which is around 500-700 per semester. Various scholarship schemes under UGC is available like Egrants.

Campus Life

4

Campus life is vibrant and full of life. Programs are conducted often. A large library with vast amounts of books is available. Our department has a library of its own. Most classrooms are smart classrooms. Various types of sports like football, cricket, volleyball, boxing, swimming, netball are available. There are many clubs like nature club, green army, debate club, quiz club and so on. Praptha is an organization run by the students and teachers together for differently able students.

Hostel Facilities

1.5

A small room shared by 4 people including me. We have a bathroom in our room. Meal quality is the worst, no hygiene and taste is also compromised. A passport size photo and a copy of aadhar is required for registration. Less affordable for the facilities it provides. The PG we rented is closer to our campus hence we chose it.

Admission

An online application was placed and selections were made in accordance with my grades and reservation. All the details regarding application cane be found on the website of the affiliated university. Fee concession were provided. An interview was conducted before providing the admission. The website crashes sometimes which should be improved.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is almost best. Curriculum doesn't influenced me in deciding this course. Curriculum should add internships. Currently there is no mandatory internship, if students are interested they can do internship during vacations. As we are learning psychology which need to be practiced in real world settings, curriculum must include real world training to help students understand things more effectively. Currently intervel between exams are non existent. Internal exams, then semester exams, you blink once, next internal exams, followed by semester exams. Syllabus is understandable, can learn if you try. Exams are also manageable. Real world examples and stories can be included in teaching methods, as psychology is related to humans and human interaction, to get better grasp of concepts. Rather than focusing on passing exam, should focus on the concepts and understand them in-depth. There are a lot of theories to study by heart. And there are many repetitive topics that overlap, but in different semesters.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My course is Bsc Biotechnology. It is a research associated course. Its main scope is in research. But in every industry let it be medical or industrial a biotechnologist is required. I would like more practical knowledge than theory knowledge in this course as it is needed to be implemented in labs hands on experience is essential. Exams are conducted every 6 months as semester. Class tests and model exams are conducted frequently. Assignments, projects, seminar ,etc.. are given every month.
