Course Curriculum Overview

The Btech course from IIT is valuable in India. Moreover, I like chemistry so I opted for this course. We have a 1:6 faculty-to-student ratio. The exams are conducted in two parts for each semester. The first one is mid-semester then comes the end semester. Even there are time-to-time quizzes and lab work held at the college. The whole activity keeps us engaged with our studies.

Class Size: 63Course Fees: INR 75000 per year

Internships Opportunities

The internship offers start for students from the first semester. We are allowed to take part in UDGAM the entrepreneurship program held at our college to ignite the young minds for bringing new ideas ahead. Even various companies come to our college during this fest to listen to the ideas and give a view upon it.

Placement Experience

The placement cell opens the portal for students after the 6th semester. We have a good placement legacy. Our average package in 2022 was 26.27 lakhs and in 2021 was 21.06 lakhs. Various companies recruit from our college like Apple, Google, Amazon, Microsoft, TVS, R&D, GAIL, etc.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure is 1 lakh per semester. They provide various waivers for economically weaker sections of people. They give MEB / OEB to the students which benefits students greatly. They provide stipends for MTech and PhD students. BTech students have various opportunities in different fields like finance, tech, sports, management, consultancy, etc. BTech students can explore themselves in all these fields.

Campus Life

The lifestyle here is the best. The campus is full of natural beauty. Sometimes the sunrise and the sunset view are mesmerizing. The campus includes 3 lakes, one big central Library, 2 sports buildings, 2 SAC buildings, and 14 hostels. We have our cultural fest ALCHERINGA held at every January end, and our sports fest SPIRIT. The technical fest TECHNICHE and various inter-hostel competitions are held here.

Hostel Facilities

They provide us with a good hostel facility. Around each hostel, we have large open ground. We have even got an attached bathroom. For the food quality, we have a good breakfast but the afternoon meal is very bad. Then we have a good dinner.

Hostel Fee: INR 25500 per year

Admission

The admission to IIT GUWAHATI was through the JEE ADVANCED exam conducted by any of the IITS under JAB (Joint Admission Board). Students even have to take JEE MAINS exam to qualify for JEE ADVANCED. The application form for mains is found on the official website created by NTA and updated every year. And after the procedure of mains is over they give a link to the advanced website. The exam process is very good and has very tight security. It is conducted in a very good and smooth manner.

Placement Experience:

The college holds a high placement rate with a significant percentage of Students security jobs before graduation. The college attracts reputed companies e.g. google ,microsoft , bajaj, oracle,barclays , grow ,etc. for campus placement including top multinational corporations and leading firms in various sectors . Total 164 offers were made by 59 companies during last academic year(2022-23). In addition, IIT Guwahati students have already received as many as 214 pre placement offers during the academic year 2023-24. The highest package this year is 2.05 crore per annum. Placement rate is 72%. My plan is to get a good pre placement offers before my graduation .

Placement Experience:

The placements in our college are very good. From 7th semester students become eligible for campus placements . The unplaced students can go further studies like MS ,MTECH . The companies visited our college are atlassian ,Amazon,AWS ,optum, Myntra ,UBS ,Amadeus ,oracle ,sap labs ,mathworks ,Hpcl ,Bpcl,HUL, Goldman Sachs and many startups . The highest package offered by AWS 52 LPA.The average package is 10,00,000 to 12,00,000 for cse and it varies for different branches

Admission:

I have just completed my schooling. It's but obvious that studying somewhere else from your hometown is exciting. And so as soon as I got my results, I started searching for the colleges and found AIT. As per my research, the faculty over here implements practical strategies into your studies that really made me choose AIT. The admission process was very smooth. They asked for certain documents that I have submitted and then pretty much went simple. It was very smoothly conducted by the teachers and the student volunteers.

I applied to almost all the old IITs and got a seat in IIT Dhanbad, IIT BHU, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Kanpur, IIT Guwahati. I chose IIT Guwahati over others because I got Engineering Physics there. I was always interested in Research and want to work in academia. IITG was established more as a research institute than an engineering institute so it was a pretty good choice for me. I didn't get a good branch in IITB, IITM and IITD so I chose IITG. The reason is obviously the jee rank. I didn't focused more on chemistry during JEE which lowered my rank a bit. For admission to IITG in Btech Engineering Physics the only way is IIT - JEE. For masters you can apply using your GATE or JAM score. During my admission it was covid lockdown so the whole process was completely online. After seat allotment, I accepted the seat and paid the counselling fee. I had cleared Jee and got admission to this college through josaa counselling. At first I was disappointed because I was hoping for more better college with good nirf rank but after spending some time in this college I felt that although my iit holds a 9 th nirf ranking in overall category still it gives good facilities more than the colleges those are above In the ranking list.
