Course Curriculum Overview

Data science is an emerging field and there is scope for getting a job in this field so I chose this branch. student-faculty ratio is 1:35. two exams are conducted in a semester. One is mid sem and the other one is end sem. you can pass the exams by studying a few days before the exams. the teachers are highly qualified. the teachers are from IITs and nits and some are even from foreign universities.

Class Size: 42Course Fees: INR 160000 per year

At the end of 3rd-year students become eligible for placement. About all big companies as Samsung and Microsoft, in the world. Many Indian companies too. Here about 75% of students are placed. Highest 51lac and average 12.5 lac annual package. 75% in the whole college. to get a good placement.

Fees and Financial Aid

The institute fee is 84000 and the hostel fee is 43500. 100% fee waiver for sc/st/ph students and no tuition fee for those whose income is less than 1 lakh. For general and obc whose income is between 1 and 5 lakh, remission of 2/3rd tuition fee. there are many scholarship schemes available one of them is RSSWF.

Campus Life

chhthpooja, bharat dhwani, paath shri sukhmit sahib etc. foreigner books are also available related to our course. varieties of sports such as cricket, football, volleyball, table tennis, kabaddi, and badminton, and many different types of society are there. iota is a website for all nit Jalandhar students.

Hostel Facilities

In first year ,there is a table ,chair ,fan ,almira ,bed ,enternet and light only. 3 times in a day,and menu can be changed time to time. process for the hostel allotment was online .And affordability is simple. Jalandhar city.

Hostel Fee: INR 60000 per year

Admission

To get into nitj, you have to take jee main exam which is given by more than 10 lakh students where you have to get a minimum 80 percentile. I got 98.145 in Jee Mains 2023 by which I got data science branch in nit Nalandhar. I belong to obc (ncl) category.

Placements are really great of our college as its avg pakage is of 11 lac from computer related branches. Girls are eligible in second year for inters and for boys its generally from 3rd year because of the reservations.

Chandigarh University: Is it worth the investment?

Placement Experience:

The student become eligible for campus placements from 5th semester. The companies visited per year are approximately 200. They claim 100% placements but in reality they divide students into placement and non- placement batches called tpp and ntpp. If you slip up even once, you will be debarred from the tpp group. The highest package is 53 LPA. The average package is 4.5 LPA. Companies like JP Morgan, TCS, Capgemini, PlaySimple, Cognizant, Nokia, Philips, Morgan Stanley, PWC, KPMG, EPAM, Watchguard, High radius, OYO, Coding Ninjas, Samsung, etc have already came. More companies are yet to come. Since the student intake is too much, placements are really hard to get since there is too much competition. In the end, people get hired in mass recruitment companies and get minimum pay of 3-4 lpa. My plans are apply for off-campus jobs and start working in corporate after the degree. If I don't get a job, I haven't decided what I will do next.

Placements are good but I am more looking towards offcampus placements. I will do internships from my second year and in first year I'll make the base. I contacted to some of the seniors they said doing hardwork will definitely lead to a good package.

Placement Experience:

After 4 semester students are eligible for sitting in placements. There are alot of company visiting and alot of them take 2-3 with really good package and some handful with good enough packages of nearly10 lpa and the highest package was i think of in last month was of around 60 lpa . My plans after getting a degree is too work my way through companies to a FAANG Companies

I got 28102 rank in jee mains and 24576 rank in jee advanced My primary goal was to get into any iit but I can't get due to my rank if I would have got any iit o would have chosen it over In josaa counselling I got iiit bhopal cse which was quite a good option because bhopal is not so distant from home and also has good placement but it has many problems like no permanent campus and hostels etc and very high fees which I can't afford So in next round I got nit jalandhar ice over it because it is a cirtcutal branch enough options in tech and core both morover it comes with a nit tag and less fees and I want clg in north...Read More
