My take on MIT Manipal

I choose this course for the placements it provides. Most of the teachers are Ph.D. The teaching method depends on the teacher. There are some who want to improve your abilities aside from the curriculum. There are some who are strict while some are lax, like everywhere. The exam (I have given only one because of being a first-year) was timely. Passing depends on the total marks after end sem, so not sure about the difficulty of passing.

You can get an internship in your second year. Companies such as Microsoft hire interns from here. Morgan Stanley, Mahindra and Mahindra, Maruti Suzuki, and Goldman Sach come here for placements and internships.

I don't have much idea about the placements since I joined recently. As far as I know, last year the average package of computer science was 16.92 Lakhs, while the highest package was around 54 lakhs. The average package for all the computer related branches were around 15 lakhs. My plan after getting the degree is to get a job.

The fee is set for 4 years, in which you have to pay less in the first year. After that, the fee depends on your course, with it being maximum for courses like computer science, ece, cce, etc. The scholarship I got is the AICTE Tuition Fee Waiver. If your family's income is less that 8 Lakhs per annum, you can participate in a separate counseling for people in similar situations for 5% of the general seats in that branch. My course is costly, normally but I saved more than 11 Lakhs because of this fee waiver making it the cheapest and the best option available to me.

The annual fest is called Revels, which is conducted in March, while the tech fest is called Tech Tatva, which was conducted in October this year. Books are easily available, you can issue them and keep them for about 14 days before returning or reissuing them. The classrooms are air-conditioned. There are a plethora of sports and extracurricular activities on campus, be it hockey, football, cricket, athletics, open mics etc. There are many clubs being run by students, be it music clubs like Mafia, Chords, and Co or student projects like Cryptonite, Robo-Manipal, etc.

Must secure 50% in 12th boards. The application form is available on manipal.edu site, and the application fee and dates are also available there. An improvement in the admission process would have been to release the results early.
