Remarks

IIM Bangalore is one of the finest colleges in the country that truly test your capabilities in every sense. It is not easy to reach here and it is equally challenging to sustain here. We learn most from the network of batchmates, senior as well as Junior

Entrance Preview

CAT, 99 percentile, IIM Bangalore is one of the best MBA institutes in the country. It was a no brainer. Moreover, I was already working in Bangalore, so it was an easy transition.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

Curriculum is very well designed but it's quite theoretical. Entrepreneurship should go beyond case studies. After I started my non-profit, I was not prepared by the very basics like chosing the financial model of my organization and procedure to get it registered. Research wise it is far better than any other Indian Institutes but doesn't stand anywhere when compared with Harvard / Wharton / Kellogs etc.

Internships Opportunities

Yes, we had summer Internship program. Many top companies from Investment banks like Goldman Sachs, Meryl Lynch, Deutsche Bank, Barclays came to visit. There were top consultancies like Mc Kinsey, BCG, Bain, Deloitte also visited. Marketing companies - P&G, HUL & ABG were also quite in demand.Stipend depends on company and location. For me, I got internship in P&G Singapore. Stipend = Rs 20,000 per month + SGD 44 per diem for 2 months

Placement Experience

5

100% placement. Many top companies from Investment banks like Goldman Sachs, Meryl Lynch, Deutsche Bank, Barclays came to visit. There were top consultancies like Mc Kinsey, BCG, Bain, Deloitte also visited. Marketing companies - P&G, HUL & ABG were also quite in demand.Packages ranged from 6 Lacks per annum to 25 lakhs per annum (10 L being average)

College Events

4.5

There are many IIMB Vista - The Annual International Business Summit at IIM BangaloreUnmaad - Unmaad is not just the annual cultural fest of IIM Bangalore. It is the Biggest B-School Fest in India, Apart from that there are many entrepreneurship as well as sports events.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It has now turned expensive. It was 9 Lakhs when I joined. It has gone up now. However considering the fact that IIM grads earn quite handsomely after their degrees, it is quite manageable unless you want to launch a startup. I would still call it feasible.

Fees and Financial Aid

There are many scholarship and loan facilities available 1) Aditya Birla Scholarhip 2) Merit cum means scholarship like financial aid in case of financial crunch situation 3) Many banks offer loans at low interest rate and no guarrantor.

Campus Life

5

Campus life was very enriching as we had a diverse group of batchmates who came from different background and were already quite accomplished. There were fewer girls though. We had a regular L Square party in campus and there were clubs which held interviews for selection. The group has diverse socio-economic background though elite class dominated.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

Hostel facilities are really good especially the new building. Old building did have some issues. It is single occupancy. Every one gets a separate room and there are no separate buildings for girls and boys. Mess food is really good since students manage

Alumni/Alumna

Yes the alumni network is very active. We hold annual get together - Anusmaran which are very popular across different countries in the world. Alumini group helps in networking and finding useful connections even after passing out. One alum recently got my work published in a newsletter she was managing.

Exam Structure

It was Extremely hectic like Mission Impossible with many surprise quizes, exams, mid terms, end terms, projects, presentations and case studies. We always had some of the other deadlines for one of the above activities. I would manage only few hours of sl

Faculty

4

Excellent mostly. However there have been extremely qualified professors who just couldn't teach. Qualification shouldn't be the only criteria for selection. However overall we had some of the best professors we could have imagined. I especially liked our
