Course Curriculum Overview

4

I think computer science and engineering is the best engineering course and it also has a promising future but Artificial Intelligence is also emerging as a good branch you can also opt for that according to rankings of IITs in NIRF. The faculty-student ratio here is 1:9. All the faculties here are very experienced and do their PhD's from reputed colleges or from abroad. In a semester of 4 months after 2 months there are mid-semester exams and then again after 2 months, there are end-semester exams. If you study regularly 2-3 hours a day then you can pass them easily.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

Lots of internship opportunities are available because our college has also collaborated with the colleges nearby and whole over India companies which usually come for internships are Uber and many more and our professors also recommend internships.

Placement Experience

5

After 7-8 semesters students become eligible for campus placements many companies visit the campus like Google, IBM, OLA, etc highest package is 63 lacs and the average package for CSE is 28 lacs. In CSE approximately average 93 percent of students get placement. I should opt for doing the job for good earnings or any kind of start-up.

Fees and Financial Aid

The actual fee is 1lacs but it depends on the annual income of the family which is an excellent way in it if a family whose income is below 1lacs the tution fees for them will be zero and they will only have to pay mess and hostel fees. For a family income between 1lacs-5 lacs they have to pay one-third of the tution fees and mess and hostel fees also have to pay and for those above 5 lacs, they will have to pay complete 10 lacs fees. The college also has societies which raise funds and help those who need it.

Campus Life

4.5

There is an annual fest named Zetgeist which is held in November or October every year and there is also a tech fest that meets in the college and tech fest is conducted in October and all types of books and journals are available in the central library. There is a sports complex which has all types of sports grounds and perfect lighting on all the pathways and in the grounds also. There are many societies and clubs i.e one society is there which gives food to dogs and clubs like Arturo, codings club, robotics club, debate society etc.

Hostel Facilities

4

Our hostel includes all the necessary facilities that a normal student needs like the water cooler, dispenser, washing machine, lifts and inner ground and a common room which has a TV which can be operated any time in the day meal is quite good but not so good menu is we get different food on all 7 days and 3 times a day.

Admission

To take admission in IIT we have to clear JEE mains and then JEE advanced which is one of the toughest exams in the world. For JEE mains there is a paper of 300 marks and includes physics, chemistry and maths each of 100 marks according to me cut off depends accordingly on your shift for JEE mains if your shift is hard then you may get 99 percentile easily on getting approximately 60 per cent marks or 180 marks which can be secured by perfect planning and for JEE advanced if you get marks above 100 and level of the paper was also good then your seat in IIT is confirmed and if you get good marks then you will get IIT according to rankings of IIT's and your thinking. If we work with the brain then it is easy to clear JEE mains and Advanced.

Other Applied Colleges

IIT Guwahati - Indian Institute of Technology - [IITG] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)

Companies start coming summer internships in the 5th and 6th semester though ,CG cuts are imposed so very less students are elgible to sit for these companies, The real placement season is 7th and 8th semester and many companies visit campus for placements. around 60 percent students got placed in the recent placement drive. The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.
