Best College in Uttarakhand

Overall the college is a good learning ground for students with good personality building and career building opportunities available. But few issues need to be sorted out like the use of newer technology ,improving hostel facility and faculty improvement

I took AIEEE in the year 2011 after passing 12th and secured a rank in 40k. Since I was a fresher and I couldn't crack JEE so instead of dropping I preferred this college as it was near to my home haldwani and is the best college in uttarakhand for btech. I got a seat in the IT branch of btech through state counselling.

The first year course of the college was same for all the branches which included an extension to the basics of sciences that we studied in our 12th. Thereafter different courses had their own specialised courses of their respective branches. Since I had opted for Information Technology second year we studied some basic courses as data structures, programming language etc. In the third year we studied some advanced concepts of networking,compilers,databases etc. Finally in the final year besides the project we had subjects in information management and technology advancement. In all the course was split in a 8 sem system.

Stipend was not offered as such but top scoring students and reserved cla. Students were provided with some scholarship. Internship was not readily available in the college but we could persue internship from outside the college after 3 year. The professors however were readily available to give help you on any topic.

The placement of the college is decent with most students getting placed in good companies. Companies like maruti, Honda, Ashley, nucleus, bajaj come for placement drive every year but the major recruiter is TCS. The average package is around 3.5 lpa.

The college is a plethora of events with events being held every now and then.various college level and inter college fests like litrosphere, accolade, tech fair,colloseum are being held which help improve students technical as well as overall personality. Various cultural events are being held time and again. Students from all over India participate in these events.

Since it is a government college the fees is miderate. Per sem tuition fee is around 12000 and including hostel fees it comes to 30-35k depending in your mess bill. However the fees varies for every year students but is more or less the same.

Scholarships are available for backward students and economically backward students based on no of scholarships available. Students doing good in academics are also given some financial help. Loans are available for various banks located at the college campus only with moderate interest rates though there is no need.

The campus life is full of activities with full of extravagenga. 30% reservation is for girls so no discrimination for anyone. Various workshops and cultural societies wont let you get bored. Best part is the hostel life which you would cherish your whole life. No kind of discrimination at all and everyone is equal.

The hostels are very old and doesn't meet the standards. In fact it is mandatory to live in hostel if you are not a local. 1 year 3 sharing rooms are there which may increase depending upon no of students. The mess food is OK OK. 2 year 2 sharing room and

The alumini meet is held every year where we get to interact with our seniors who have excelled in their respective field. Moreover we always stay in touch with our seniors who are always there to help us.

The faculty was well qualified and had good teaching experience. Some branches had faculties from top institutions like IIT whereas some faculty in other branches had done various research and courses as PhD. In IT department initially the faculty was les
