Likes

There are no curfew timings, we can enter exit the campus anytime.
There are canteens available till 4am, with reduced prices.
The work compared to value of degree is quite less

Dislikes

Personal vehicles are not allowed inside the campus.

Course Curriculum Overview

The student-faculty ratio is decent given the size of the total batch. We have lectures, taken up by senior faculties, then we have teaching assistants in doubt sessions to help us cope with the class. Exams are timely and not very difficult to pass if concepts are clear. There is less mugging up

Class Size: 35Course Fees: INR 225000 per year

Internships Opportunities

Many internships are available from 3rd year onwards. One with a course in science can get internships in a finance or software company, based upon his interest, on recommendation of the club he joins.

Placement Experience

Placements are one of the best in India. More than 200 companies visit the campus from packages ranging from 20LPA to 3.5cr per annum in foreign countries. The highest domestic packages are around 50LPA. almost 90percent of people get placed

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees are quite low compared to private colleges but are on the upper side when compared to other goverment colleges. But the benefit is seen in the investment-reward ratio, the value of the degree is quite high.

Campus Life

The social life here is quite good. we have all the amenities. Football turfs, badminton, squash, tennis, kho kho, volleyball, basketball and all other sports are available with a world-class gym. There are a large number of clubs like finance, literature, dance etc

Admission

To join this college, we have to qualify for the JEE ADVANCED examination, if we successfully get the required rank we can freeze our seats. The courses are given preference-wise, the one with a better rank gets to choose what he/she wants. To be eligible for the JEE ADVANCED examination we have to qualify the cutoff for jee mains examination which is given by over 1200000 candidates across India.

A brief view into IISER Pune

Likes

High productive discussions are encouraged. The classrooms are well maintained
The labs are well maintained and provides as much time as needed
The mess provides very good food and is quite subsidised

Dislikes

The fee is rising for junior batches which might not be affordable

Placement Experience:

Our college encourages diversification but due to the primary aim being research, most people go for a career in academia but placements are also provided in major companies but the percentage of students going for this choice is low.

IISER Pune: Worth the hype?

Likes

The infrastructure is great with state of the art labs and such. The classrooms are well furnished and comfortable.
The professors are very good in teaching and the research work and are always willing to help and support students.
The students are very helpful in the community and there are multiple hobby clubs.

Dislikes

There is no night canteen even though most clubs run late at night.
The quality of the mess food is bad and their hygiene is poor despite many complaints.
The admin department does not take students seriously on the issue of the attendance app

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities are great with various companies approaching students to snap them up in fields from consultancy to software to pharmaceuticals.lots of students also end up working on labs of various professors that they have built a rapport with.

IISER PUNE REVIEW

Likes

The college provides flexibility of choosing your own subject of interest or specialization.
It is a highly affordable college with fees much lower than other government colleges as well
There are no restrictions on in timings of hostel on campus.

Dislikes

The college does force you to study subjects like HSS, ECS where they teach sanskrit and earth sciences in first sem which might not be very useful in the future.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for sitting for summer internship programmes of iiser pune. Not many software companies visit this college for placements as most of the students of this college sit for higher studies for their PhDs or publish research articles. However a student who wishes to get a job in corporate can get an online course of computer science done and apply for off campus placements as the IISER PUNE tag value along with good skills are more than enough for you to get a high paying job.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course contents are good but could be too lengthy for some as the semester is only of 4 months which is not sufficient for such large course contents. The grading is relative which gives fairness to everyone.

Beyond the Classroom: Life at IISER PUNE

Likes

Learning Environment, Curious and Enthusiastic people
Academic support like extra classes, Fun activities like Fest and Karvaan
Great professors, Ta’s , opportunities for internships and placements

Dislikes

Maintaince of the sports facilities can be better
Mess food experience is not too bad not too good
Can show more enthusiasm towards sports activities like IISM which is a tournament

Course Curriculum Overview:

The courses which are offered are very up to date and give and actual conceptual understanding of the topics the courses are such that it is relevant to the real world applicantions and program our mind in thinking in a research and analytical perspective. I think the current course curriculum is enough and really good no need to improve further. Frequency of exams are 2 months Midsems and endsems and quizzes in Between then.

the ups and downs of the iit bombay or the truth of iit bombay

i like the campus it is very beautiful as comparied to other collages
the enviroment i like the most of iit bomby
the students are very supportive and the TA are also the same

Dislikes

the gender ratio of the compus is to bad 1 ratio 4
the hostels are the worst part of the collage
what the teacher explain to use we dont know any thing

the course curriculum is little hard as compare to other engenerig collage as it is known as iit for a reason so they wont prapare for uh for any thing you should prepare for everything it totally depend on you so try hard

The Brand of IIT Bombay

Likes

The lecture halls are equipped with modern technology, high speed internet connectivity and charging sockets on each desk.
The canteens as well as restaurants inside the campus are quite affordable for college students.
The library is very well maintained and spacious. It's air conditioned and contains all the resources you'll ever need.

Dislikes

Many washrooms in the hostels have still not been renovated.
Official work is quite slow and time consuming. Also the planning of events is not efficient and many times the activities clash with each other.

Placement Experience:

Placement opportunities at IIT Bombay are very good. But getting a high paying job depends on an individual - how skilled and qualified they become after 4 years. If you lay focus on academics and build your personality with all the resources and networks you have IIT Bombay, you'll definitely land at a very good place in your life. There are also startups and business opportunities. Entrepreneurship is encouraged by the departments.

ALL ABOUT IISER PUNE

Likes

Most liked thing that there is no ragging in college and all senior are just like big brother and sister, this thing i so loved. Also there is very much greenery in campus which look very nice mainly in rainy season.
All the professor are very brilliant and help student time to time for internship till last date and explain all the phenomenon and clear doubt by simply taking a appointment.
Campus is very nice and hostel are very well ventilated and about food i like it because there is some hotel like feeling that you pay at that time and eat. You have not to pay it along sem fee also eat what you want like veg , non veg etc.

Dislikes

The Thing i don't like is the distance of college from pune city is about 10 km which is makes us very deductive for going us to the main pune city. So we go only 2 to 3 time in a month to pune city.

Placement Experience:

As there was placement in the year 2021 which is nearly 56 percent. Around 20 companies visited campus like TCS, AKASH, CIPLA etc. for placement. But most of student do not like placement becuase they have their plan about research so they do phd and post doc in their career which they think best according to their opinion. But in 2021 the avg. package was 8 lpa and each participant have 2 offer. Also the highest package is 13 lpa, which is very nice as compare. but the main reson is research that's why placement is not so higher.

IISER Pune : an overview

Likes

Research atmosphere and friendly faculty
Hostel accomodation and meal quality in mess
Infrastructure and high end instruments in advanced laboratories

Dislikes

Small campus with limited area for casual stroll

Placement Experience:

Campus placements although do exist, since it is a research organisation, most students aim for a higher degree and aim to get into top research institutes in the country and abroad. There is an entrepreneurship cell that helps in entrepreneurial activities in campus. After the degree I plan to apply for a PhD project at a reputed university that would help me propel my research career in the subject of my liking

Admission:

I got admission through jee advance. All students who apply for advance need to be mains qualify. And the counseling process is done on jossa. Where students can fill an infinite number of choices.

I did applied for iit delhi also as it was my home town but got IIT Bombay as it was much better for me because of placements and brand value. I applied for other iit's also but choose to stick with iit bombay because of the amount of resources , clubs , tech teams and the professors here. I did get rejected from iiit hyderabad which has a separate entrance exam , it is mainly because I was underprepared The addmission process for my college is through jee mains followed by advanced Jee main percentile should be above 94 for qualifying for advance and to choose my course you advance rank should be below 2200...Read More
