Course Curriculum Overview

I chose this course because I always had an interest in medicine and also find it a noble profession. The faculty-student ratio is quite good and every student gets appropriate attention from the teachers and can get his /her doubts rectified. Teachers are very well qualified and exams are held regularly.

Class Size: 250Course Fees: INR 9000 per year

Internships Opportunities

The internship is provided after passing the final year examination. Posting in different wards of the hospital of the same college is alloted for each month. Interns are paid around 30 thousand rupees as a stipend monthly.

Fees and Financial Aid

Our college fees are merely 9000 per annum which is affordable even for the students coming from financially weak families. I got no scholarships. The course provides 1 year internship to every student after passing the final year exams during which they are paid a stipend every month.

Campus Life

The college holds an annual fest named Lobelia, mostly in September. Other events and medico-academic events are also held from time to time. The library is well-equipped and one can easily find the medical books required.

Hostel Facilities

The college provides hostel facilities to almost every student who applies for it . Hostel rooms are properly ventilated but the rooms should have been bigger.Food is of good quality. The hostel is located in Shyam bazar, Kolkata.

Hostel Fee: INR 180 per year

Admission

Admission into the course happened via the neet entrance examination after which I went through 2 rounds of counseling and finally got the college. Any student who is 17 years old or above and has passed his/her 12th class in PCB is eligible for the course.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is quite well maintained till 3rd year but the final year syllabus is too vast to complete within 1 year. I feel duration has to be increased a bit. The process of acquiring knowledge entirely depends on the individual pursuing this course as there is no spoonfeeding as in other courses.

Best medical College in west bengal

Placement Experience:

If you can pass the exam that is very tough to pass if you're not serious at all, you'll be able enough to get into any nursing home or you can start treating people staring your own clinic. After 4.5 years you get the internship program that is mandatory to do for all where you get a salary of 32000 per month which is highest among all states . If you manage to be in the top 100 students of the batch of 250 you get one year job in the same hospital with a fees of 50000 and just 48 hours duty per week. If you do nursing home you can get around 70-90k per month based on how much you spent time on work .

You have to clear NEET UG cut off for our college which varies according to your category . Cut off is high as our college is third most sought college in WB.
