Course Curriculum Overview

I'm in the Electronics and Communication Department (ECE), speaking of which, it is a very informative course and the only benefit about this course is that you can make a career in either the IT sector or the core sector, which the other department students don't get easily, Talking about the faculty there are only a handful of teachers who have impressive teaching skills, the rest of them have a good knowledge of the subject but it feels like they have no idea about the teaching skills.

Class Size: 63Course Fees: INR 92000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

The average course fee is 90000 per year and it is the same for every department. The college does provide you with a student loan which you'll have to pay back after getting a job, apart from that if you're a state board student then you can apply for Swami Vivekananda Scholarship, but do remember that you have to apply for it when you're in 1st year. I missed this opportunity but hope that others don't.

Campus Life

Talking about campus life it is pretty good, like you'll get to make a lot of friends. And yes, this college does have a field and you can play during the long recess or after college. If you're someone interested in sports then you'll be happy to know that apart from indoor tournaments outdoor tournaments are also organized by this college.

Admission

I got admission to this college through the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE). The process of admission takes some time, which is pretty obvious. The authorities of this college are very helpful, especially during the process of admission.

Story of hit

Placement Experience:

The campus placement from recently past years is slightly good . Like tcs infosys cognizant ibm Capgemini like companies comes every year with good placement and capsitech gives you internship from 3 year . From 7th sem you are eligible for campus placement in 2025 the avg package is 5-7 lpa and Highest lpa is 75lpa . My plan is getting good job in good company

Placement Experience:

7th semester is when the students get to sit for placements. I am not sure about the total no of companies visited but I am aware of the name of few companies like IBM Infosys Wipro Capsitech Tech Mahindra cognizant etc . Mostly the girls are 100 percent placed cause there is diversity hiring. Mass recruiters is what visit our campus mostly.. I personally would look for a job after graduation highest package offered displayed by college is 75 lpa but I don't think so it is real. Maybe someone had worked hard and got placed off campus. On campus highest isbi guess 12-14 lpa

Course Curriculum Overview:

- I choose Data Science as it is new to my college when comparing with the other branches. The curriculum is just okay it is not per industry standards but if students deep drives in each aspects then they are likely to crack GATE exams. - The whole curriculum needs and improvement from the very 1st Year and removal of irrelevant subjects like Discrete Mathematics, Electonics, Biology for IT branches are required. - Semester exams are conducted every 6 months and CTs are conducted every 2 months

NIT Durgapur:-A wholesome Insight in the college life and it's different aspects

Placement Experience:

For campus placements student become eligible from the 7th semester onwards and for internships student get eligible from 5th semester onwards. Wide no of companies visited our campus around 180+ and made around 580+ offers to the students. The highest salary was 58LPA which was offered by DE Shaw and the highest accepted salary was 51LPA in Microsoft.The average package rolls roughly around 10-12 LPA.The profile offered include SDE roles, management roles,finance in some cases.The overall placement percentage was around 80% with Branches like electrical and metallurgy moving above 90% followed by CSE and ECE in the mid 80s while for biotech and civil the placement percentage are generally below 70.My plans after getting the degree is to land a job offer from on campus placements.Therefafter maybe look out for and MBA from top B schools of india.
