- There is everywhere lush of greenery and all the hostel blocks are well planted in their surroundings.

Course Curriculum Overview
Course curriculum matches industrial measures. I chose the Information Technology course. This is why because the Information Technology branch has very good placements in NITK and in the last two years it has had 100% placements. The faculty-to-student ratio in NITK is an average of 80:1.
Internships Opportunities
Students go to companies for internships like Oracle, hp, Microsoft etc. Students are eligible for internships from the 5th semester. They apply for internships from the 5th semester and they go for internships in the sem break after the 6th sem.
Placement Experience
Students can apply for the placements for the 7th semester. All the big MNCs like Google, Amazon, Adobe, Microsoft, DeShaw, and Oracle visit every year the campus. For B.Tech. they approximately give almost 700 no. of offers.
Fees and Financial Aid
The annual institute fee for a student is 125000 along with hostel fees are about 100000 per year. For SC/ST students there are no institute fees and GEN/OBC students whose family income is below 1 lac get full fee remission and those whose annual family income is between 1lac and 5lac get 2/3rd fee remission. Institute provides "Top 50 meritorious student scholarships" on the basis of the merit list.
Campus Life
There are two annual fests in NITK, Surathkal. Incident is the cultural fest and Engineer is the technical fest. The cultural fest is organized in the month of March and the technical fest is organized in the month of October. There are almost 22 clubs including technical and cultural clubs.
Hostel Facilities
A student gets one table, one chair, one charging port, one LAN port and one cupboard in one's room. There is one mess named Pushpagiri whose food quality is the best in the campus. Along with this Mega mess and Trishul mess also provide good quality of food.
Admission
The eligibility for this course is to pass the higher secondary class with a qualifying JEE(Mains) exam. The form for the application can be found on the website of JOSAA. Application fees for a session of JEE(Mains) are 750 rupees. Generally, the application starts for the first session during the month of December and for the April session application form starts at the end of the month of February or at the start of the month of March.
