Course Curriculum Overview
My course focuses on Mechanical aspects and involves industrial engineering. Faculty students ratio - 19:1 Every professor is Phd in their field and well qualified. There are 1 mid-term and 1 end-term exam and quizzes and practicals throughout the semester. They are easy to pass.
Internships Opportunities
The IIT Roorkee internship programme is an annual flagship programme of the institute. Under the SPARK programme, IIT Roorkee offers internships to UG students from all over India. Students will be offered a stipend of Rs 2,500 per week for six to eight weeks Depending on the position, interns may or may not be paid. Unpaid internships are common, especially when the internship counts as academic credit toward graduation.
Placement Experience
According to media reports, the highest international and domestic package offered during IIT Roorkee placements 2022-23 placements stood at INR 1.06 crore per annum and INR 1.30 crore per annum, respectively. Further, six international offers were made on day 1 of IIT Roorkee placements in 2023. Apart from this, ten students got a salary package of more than INR 80 LPA during IIT Roorkee placements in 2023. Importantly, a record of 365 offers including PPOs were made on day 1 of IIT Roorkee placements 2023. On day two of IIT Roorkee placements 2023, 32 recruiters participated and presented various job roles to the students. The total number of offers stood at 500. The top recruiters include leading companies such as Tata Steel, Uber and Bajaj Auto.

Campus Life
Thomso is the annual cultural fest held in the month of October. Cognizance is the annual Technical fest MGCL is the library which provides books and research journals in numerous fields. Classrooms are well-furnished and air-conditioned. There are sports facilities for every sport you can think of. Various cultural clubs like dance, music, drama, cinema, and photography are available and run by groups of students.
Hostel Facilities
IIT Roorkee provides accommodation for students with separate wings or blocks for boys and girls. Each student is typically provided with a single room or shared room depending on availability. Each hostel has its own mess facility, providing meals to the residents. The mess serves a variety of food options catering to different dietary preferences. Hostels have common areas where students can socialize, study, or relax during their free time. These spaces may include TV rooms, reading rooms, and recreational areas. Most hostels are equipped with internet connectivity to facilitate academic and research-related activities. Sports and Gym Facilities: Many hostels have indoor sports facilities, and some even have gyms to promote physical fitness among the residents. Hostel Committees: Each hostel has its student committee responsible for organizing various cultural, sports, and academic events within the hostel.
Admission
There is no specific age limit. However, candidates should have passed the qualifying examination, such as 10+2 or equivalent, in the year of the JEE Advanced. Candidates must have passed their Class 12 examination or any equivalent qualifying examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. Additionally, they should have scored a minimum percentage, as specified by the institute. Candidates can be Indian nationals or foreign nationals. Candidates must first appear for the JEE Main examination, which is conducted by the NTA. Candidates who qualify for the cutoff in the JEE Main are eligible to appear for the JEE Advanced. JEE Advanced is conducted by one of the IITs on a rotational basis. Shortlisted candidates are called for counselling, where they have to select their preferred course and branch based on their JEE Advanced ranks.
