Remarks

The long as short of it is that the College i.e. USICT , GGSIPU is one of the best colleges to be in Delhi. The memories I made here are excellent. If not great , the college is above average in every aspect ranging from campus to campus placements. The overall experience was excellent !!

Entrance Preview

I wrote IPU CET in order to get into USCIT and trust me , it is one of the difficult most exams in terms of getting a good rank , since the cutoff is under 1000 ( AIR ), yes you heard it right , under 1000. However ,there’s no interview process to enter this college. It is one of the most prestigious colleges in Delhi.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

All the streams are good but computer science and IT are the best. I chose electronics and communication and it was great too. The theoretical aspects are good but not too much emphasis is laid on practical learning, that’s the bitter truth. Seldom did the institute take any research initiatives. Also, the laboratories lacked in a lot of equipments. However , the choice of electives was ample. One could choose from many options provided.

Internships Opportunities

The college did provide for internships to pre final year students. The experience was good when stipend was not much ( under 10k ) but the PPO was frequent.

Placement Experience

3.5

The placements were DECENT for CS AND IT and DULL for ELECTRONICS AND COMMUNICATION( my branch ). I’ll be talking about my branch. From the batch of 60 students , around 15 got campus placed in companies like TCS , mediated , AZCOM and AMAZON. So the percentage would be ummmm (15/60)* 100 , 25% ( heh, I’m great at maths ).. average package was around 4LPA. OVERALL PLACEMENTS WERE DULL FOR ECE.

College Events

4.5

Anugoonj is the cultural fest of GGSIPU university and one of the best fests in Delhi. Technical fest was also good and was known by different names. Anugoonj was extravagant on one hand but the tech fests were small. The cultural fest ANUGOONJ saw a massive footfall each year and was one of the most talked about fests of all times. But the same cannot be said about the tech and managerial fests. The organisation was terrific and it was next level beautiful. The star night was the most sought after event which saw singers like Sukhwinder Singh and Saleem Sulaiman. Also , Bands like PARIKRAMA , EUPHORIA etc. Thus the overall fest experience was awesome.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The best part of this college is the fee structure. Being a “government college” ( as they say ) it is quite affordable with the fee for one year being less than half a lac. ( approx 50 thousand without hostel and approx 1 lac with hostel ). Thus the fee figure makes it one of the most sought after colleges.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes , the college did provide scholarship to the below poverty line students. No, I did not avail any scholarship but a few friends of mine did. I can’t think of any loan being provided by the college. Since , the fee of the college was affordable , not many faced any problems regarding the same.

Campus Life

4.5

In terms of extracurriculars the college was excellent. Since a lot of schools were there in the University campus , a lot of activities were conducted and we had a blast. Yes , one used to get a lot of opportunities to explore their inner talents. The facilities were excellent. The university campus was a great place to enjoy and explore the talent at the same time.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

I wasn’t residing in a hostel but quite frequently visited. The rooms were spacious and single . There were no PGs but the hostel was excellent with good food and great facilities. The WiFi and LAN connectivity was 24/7 and the speed was excellent. The hostel culture , from what I could see , was excellent.

Alumni/Alumna

The interaction with alumni is minimum or should I say nil. The sad part is that the college didn’t provide any platform for student-alumni interaction. Thus, the alumni didn’t contribute at all in the overall development of the college as well as the students. However , the things are changing. I could see a few alumni coming for campus placements.

Exam Structure

Exams in USICT , GGSIPU were a regular thing and everybody knows about it. Every two months there were exams and how. The frequency of exams was quite high. There were two minor exams and a major exam in each semester. Also, the labs were quite frequent. Four days of a week were assigned to labs. But at the end of the day , it was a chill culture with five days of college and holidays at weekends.

Faculty

4

Faculty again was qualified and modern at the same time. The faculty was Experienced as well as very friendly and interactive. The standard of teaching was also good. One could easily go to the teachers and get their doubts cleared. All the classes used to go as per schedule and discipline was maintained.

Placement Experience:

Placements are good especially during recession. You're eligible for placements after 3rd year. After 2nd Year you're eligible for Internships. All Big Companies like Google Microsoft Apple Goldmansachs Mckinsey etc. Highest package offered till now in 2025 is 85LPA (Atlassian) Average of CSE is 17 -18 lpa . almost 53% people get placed in 2025 (recession time). See The degree OF DTU has its value. So it gives you an edge while you go for off campus.

Placement Experience:

The placement rate here is around 70-75% on an avg in all branches and sometimes even higher. After 1st year only , multiple opportunities starts coming . After 1st year and before 2nd year , basically in summer vacation we have to do a compulsory internship (college also provides) and we are provided a credit for that . Then multiple opportunities like GOOGLE STEP ,amacon internship , etc come.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The university doesn't beat around the bush while deciding the courses. They have picked only the subjects and the curriculum that are suitable for our field and focus on making us future-ready. Some subjects might seem a little fast-paced, but if you are consistent enough, you won't face any problems. It is safe to say that the exams and things taught in most the subjects are same to that of its so there is no lacking behind in that aspect.
